before I forget again...

Ever since I was a little girl... I have had this aversion to bumper stickers. Now, I do like to see them on other people's cars, and I see many I wouldn't mind displaying... but actually sticking on on my car?! Noooo...

Except, I have one now. The first bumper sticker I have EVER put on my car. Hopefully my dad won't freak. ;) Are you curious? I'm sure you are. The bumper sticker has a word and a number. Obama 08 (moveon.org sent it to me for free!)

Last night, I went to Quiznos to pick up dinner for me (after running errands, and hubby was at work). The on-duty manager saw the bumper sticker. When ringing up my salad he let me know I was getting 10% off for having a cool bumper sticker. :) I am amused. And hey- 10% off!

In other New Kid on the Block News... I was 13 when they were hugely popular, and such a fan. I look back now and just shake my head with a smile. So young, such bad taste. (though some may argue this still hasn't improved). Now I find, per Perez Hilton, that my teen fantasies are dashed! Why did the one I was soooo in "love" with have to be the gay one!? *laughs*

Although this: "x has a [non-famous] boyfriend and they're very happy," a source reveals. "They're not trying to hide it." is neat.

Dragons, just 'cause.

I have no reaction to Jonathan being gay. *shrug* It is what it is.

I do have a reaction to the picture, though...GAH!!! Danny is downright scary looking! Not that I ever found him attractive, but WHOA. Donnie looks kind of rough, too, but maybe he and Kid Rock are playing brothers in a movie or something.

I saw them in January 1990. I had just turned 18. Other than parents or older siblings of "real" fans, I think I was one of the oldest people in the civic center. :P

*grins* At this point it's more nostalgia than anything else (the New Kids thing). My 13 year old self wailing...

They were one of the first concerts I ever went to... They played the Ionia (Michigan) county fair when I was 13, so in 1988. I seem to remember the crowd having to let safety type people through because girls were passing out and all kinds of good stuff. ;)

Personally...I always thought Donnie had been hit with the ugly stick. Something about those cheeks! Yick.

I was just sitting here thinking about that time in my life. I had a New Kids poster on one wall and a Faith No More poster on the back of my door. What a weird juxtaposition. Mike Patton was hot whereas the Kids were cute. I think by this time I'd taken down all the Rob Lowe, John Stamos, and Ralph Macchio pics I'd torn out of Tiger Beat and 16 magazines. :P

Oh... we don't want to talk about my bedroom walls when I was a teen... *laughs* I had posters of ALL my loves- NKOTB, Johnny Depp, umm... Gregg Rainwater (from that show about the Pony Express, the name of which I suddenly can't remember... Young Riders maybe?). And anyone else who I thought was cute. At one point I think I counted over 200 'pairs of eyes' staring into my room. Nothing like Tiger Beat and 16 for those pinups! ;)

Back in the days of 21 Jump Street I was all ga-ga over Peter DeLuise instead of Johnny Depp. Yep, I rarely drooled over the obvious choices.

*giggles* Hubby and I started watching Firefly again last night. I can't decide about Nathan Fillion; he's kinda cute, but there's something a little odd about the way he looks, too. I feel old remembering him as Joey Buchanan on One Life to Live. :P

Good to know it wasn't just me who liked the less outgoing one...

It's so nice to see that little egg being cared for. You know that red dino egg still hasn't been touched and the only activity it has had was from my posting. I'm so bummed by that. It now only has 3 3/4 days to hatch. If you post on [livejournal.com profile] dragonspam would you be willing to post the little guy too? I just don't want to see him die. Thanks. His code is Cj46.

Thanks!

I'm not as concerned now that he hatched, but any help would be appreciated. I just don't want to see the little guy die. *smiles*

Have a great weekend. I'll talk with you when I return from my hopefully dry and fun trip.

I've got one of those Obama bumperstickers, haven't put it on the car yet. I'm the same way about putting stickers on my car. The usual line is "stickers reduce the resale value", but hey, I got 12 years out of my last car and this recently-new one will probably end up the same way. I did put a round Celtic knotwork sticker on a corner of the back window of my old car years ago (long story, King Crimson sticker), and recently found the identical one I had figuring that by now I would have accidentally scraped that sticker off. So my new car has the same sticker in the same spot.

Plenty of room on the other side of the back window for the Obama sticker, though.

Jon was my favorite too.

I never got to see them when they were popular...but we've got a suite at the show at the Palace. For one night, I can be 13 again, and pretend I have a shot with "the shy one".

Wonder if the whole "dating Tiffany" thing was just a cover.

Getting blood drawn

I know this has absolutly nothing to do with this post, but I thought you might benefit from a little tip. Before you go to get blood drawn, hydrate. If you know in advance of the "event" drink plenty of fluids and that will help your veins stand up. I myself get really nervous before tests and such and I tend to not eat or drink as usual. My friend that is a nurse told me I needed to drink plenty of fluids the day before and the day of. And for me it really helped. Try it next time and maybe you won't have so much trouble. I don't bruise nearly as bad anymore either. Good luck! Drinking more water everyday has also helped me with my migraine issues as well. Thanks to my chiro for that tip.
