Well, while things aren't so good right now- the weekend was fun.

Picked my sister up at the airport after work- the timing was perfect. I pulled up in the 'loading/unloading don't you dare park!!!' zone and had just stopped the car when my sister came out of the airport. We gabbed and gabbed all the way to the apartment- where I had much fun introducing her to Leo (I was living with my sis when I first got Sasha, so they were acquainted. ;) ). Then it was dinner, more gabbing and back to the apartment to chill and wait for the hubby to get home. This is when the laptop problem surfaced, but I'll get in to that in a bit.

Saturday was granny's 95th birthday. Whoo... Granny was in fine form, telling sis and I that she recommends watching your diet and eating chocolate ice cream almost every day. There's advice I think I can follow. Also to live well and be happy. Her youngest brother was there- he'll be turning 74 in a few weeks. Yeah, she's the second oldest of like 13 and he's 21 years younger than she is- same parents. Just kinda blows me away. It was nice to see all the relatives, have my uncle J (who always called me Shelly as a kid- he always seemed to just be teasing...) ask me where in Philly I was living now... And there was much in the way of tasty food. Though I did try to be careful and not overindulge.

Oh, had to go pick up the elder brother M before the party- his car wasn't wanting to work. Got to see the puppies, which is always fun, but I do wish M and SIL would teach the puppies not to jump up on people. Not everyone really enjoys it... After the party drove M back home- and the weather was not much fun. The DH has absolutely no problems driving in ick weather- so I didn't get too worried. Stopped at L&L on the way home for late night spaghetti fixin's- if there's one thing that I make that I'm quite proud of it's my spaghetti sauce. Sure it starts from a jar- but I add things as suits my fancy. Generally turns out quite well.

Sunday was early- drove sis back to airport and then stopped by the Aunts's house to drop off elder brother M's gloves (he left them in my car and I knew he was going to be at the Aunts's later that day). Another L&L stop- OJ and soup were called for. Late Saturday I started having some trouble breathing- not congestion per se, just difficulty. Sunday was a bit worse- it simply felt like my lungs did NOT want to inflate. I have a Primatene Mist inhaler- my asthma isn't enough for a doctor prescribed inhaler. Took several shots of it yesterday along with some cold meds- and it helped, but I spent most of the day aware of my breathing and my back actually started to get sore due to the effort. Luckily today is better. I still feel really drained and exhausted though. The hubby and I were distinctly unpatriotic yesterday evening- we have no tv channels and could not watch the Super Bowl. So we watched The Red Violin instead. I really like this movie.

Now... the laptop. When I first tried it at lunch on Friday all seemed good- there was a bit of one corner missing (dh says it looks like someone dropped it). Just cosmetic, thought I, shouldn't be a problem. Except, that's where the power plug goes in. That evening when my sis was there I got it out again to play with- and discovered it was only running on battery power. This is not good. The plug area wasn't drawing any power. Now, I had left it plugged in when I left after lunch (it was on standby) and I put it back in the case (didn't want the cats to get into it). So at first I wondered if putting it in the case was enough to damage what was already weakened. But sis and dh agree that it probably wasn't me. I'm moving in that direction- in part because I don't remember if I looked at lunch to see if it was drawing power from just the battery or from the plug.

So now I have to bring back the laptop- it's not much use without power, and since I only spent $50 on it I'm not sure I want to try to spend even more on an attempt to try to fix it. (there were two metal bits attached to a board- the bits also attached to the power plug socket. One was out of the socket when I checked it- so I managed to get it back in to place. This did not help at all.) I think Mrs. Boss will give me my money back- I was going to bring the laptop in this morning- but forgot in my hurry to get out the door.

It just frustrates me so much. I got really excited about having this laptop- only to get it and have it not work. And if you understood just how long I've wanted one...

**edit: Brought the laptop in and Mrs Boss said to have one tech look at it, and if her couldn't fix it to bring it to the other tech. So it will either get fixed or money back. I'm actually hoping they can fix it.**

This just adds to just some general ick feelings- so my head isn't really in a good place right now. I'm feeling very lethargic and just don't really want to put effort into anything. Screaming, ranting, crying- all way too much effort. Maybe I just need more sleep, maybe it's the weather. Alls I know is I want a better head space.

But other than the current malaise and the laptop issue- I had a really great weekend.
