Date: 2006-08-22 06:24 pm (UTC)One of the things I love about that movie is that scene (I think it's that scene?) where Liam Nielson's like "So she...he...doesn't know you exist?" And the way the boy rolls his eyes and says "SHE". But I've long said that it will be a better world when my son or daughter can bring home whoever they want and my only concern is that my child is in love.

Date: 2006-08-22 06:57 pm (UTC)As such she lost a potential measure of actual happiness because she let someone else's needs totally run her life. To me that reads as unhealthy, and that she didn't actually positively benefit- like everyone else in the movie did. That and I guess I was also surprised that someone as ill as her brother was had free run to use a phone whenever he wanted.
