Battlestar Galactica... So I just started watching Season 2 (sent disc 1 back just a day or so ago). So far? Not liking the humans- except Starbuck. Quite frankly I would almost be happy about the Cylons wiping them out. So I'm confused about the 'side' the writers are taking. Even if they're trying for pure even-handedness there WILL be a side chosen (if only mentally) that will come through the writing. At this point it seems like they're siding with the Cylons. There certainly aren't any humans really worth saving. Aside from Starbuck- and maybe Apollo. Everyone else? Oi!

Do the writers have something against love? There isn't a single love relationship that isn't screwed up. NO one is apparently allowed to be in love and have that love be a GOOD thing in their life. Examples- Tigh and Ellen... even Adama and Apollo, father son love- but it's all messed up and hurts them more than helps. D and Billy... it's all hesitation. Chief and Valeri- enough said. Hell, Helo and 'Valeri'... Very annoying I tell you. The Doctor I want to shove out an airlock.

But I'll keep watching just to see if it gets better.

Other stuff... Hubby really likes his new job! Yay!! At one point in time he voiced a 'what if I spend all this time/money in school and find I actually don't like nursing?! worry. This has been alleviated. He really likes what he's doing- even if there are days where 'everything goes wrong, but it doesn't go BAD.' Okay!

Dylan crashed again... The laptop that occasionally goes nuts over updates. Running updates has crashed Dylan FOUR times! I'm ready to rip my hair out! Once it was a Norton update that crashed it, twice it's been Windows updates, and this latest time a Trend Micro update! I'm ready to chuck him out a window and get a Mac. I do still have a warranty with Circuit City- so I was quite close to taking him in and saying 'look, this has happened 4 times, fix it!' or some such. I even came up with an opening statement... This being after I crashed Dylan a fifth time when trying to load Trend Micro. I decided to try one more time and since then he's been working. Bastard.

It snowed for some time yesterday. Only about 4 inches accumulated (on top of the lots we already had. Yes, lots, it's a technical depth determination), but it was all powder. Great for skiing says hubby. Not great for driving to the other side of Lansing to shop for uniforms and get dinner at Red Robin. We ended up only going a mile down the road to Chiles (and only because I had to get a prescription). The roads weren't bad really, just people can't drive. This is a daily complaint of mine...

In med news- I was amused to find out that Zyrtec is OTC now, and I learned this from [livejournal.com profile] firesign10 prior to actually being informed from my insurance company. The insurance company is no longer covering it. *grrs* See, before I was paying $7 a month. Now I will be paying $20 or so? Blech.

Animals are doing well... not much news there. Kyle likes the snow though, so it is fun to watch him bounding around in it. That and trying to find a smell so he has to bury his head... He has also learned a valuable lesson- if there's snow on the ground, and you insist on walking in front of Mommy, you WILL have snow kicked onto your hiney. This Kyle does not like and makes him dance. It's funny. To me.

Oh, and I have some memes to post...

So how are you?
