Now, a real entry

So the weekend... was blissfully uneventful. Saturday hubby came home from work and we slept for a bit, before I was convinced to get up. Walked the dog, and chilled for a bit before getting hubby up. Then it was off to lunch! We did try to get air for one of my tires (it's a smidge low) but due to the weather, all the air compressors in the area were non-functioning. It was suggested that we try Discount Tire, but we were hungry, and it wasn't critical.

Spent a very low-key evening at home, watching the tele, played some Carcassonne... and yeah. Was good.

Sunday was more of the same, got up, went to breakfast, came home, watched "Hot Fuzz," laughed lots, hubby napped, and I knit. Hubby had to work last night, hence the nap. After he was gone I kept knitting (the 'scarf' I'm making is a total mess, but it's a learning experience...) and watched the rest of Doctor Who Season 2-3? (the season that ended with Rose's departure). I like Rose. Watched the first episode of the next season- did not like Donna. Sorry, but not all secretaries are oblivious idiots. Curious to see Martha. I started watching episode 2 so I saw a smidge of her, but I was informed by three fur-kids that it was bedtime! Well, in Kyle's case 'WALK TIME') Even so, I stayed up too late, I have a bad habit of doing that on Sundays. I think it has much to do with not wanting the weekend to be over, and definitely not wanting to go to work the next day. I'm grateful to have a job in this economy- really! I just don't like it much.

See? Totally exciting weekend.

I loved it!

Now it's Monday. *pouts* Least I have writing group tonight to look forward to.

Rose starred in Seasons 1-2, then comes back for a guest appearance at the end of Season 4. I <3 Rose, she's definitely been the best companion so far (in the new seasons). Martha is pretty cool, too.

Donna comes back as the Doctor's companion for all of Season 4. Gah. She grows on you a teensy bit, and they do have a very...quirky relationship, which can be amusing at times. But I was still happy to see her go when the season ended.

Why yes, Doctor Who is my favorite TV show, why do you ask?

So I'm thinking I might not like Season 4... *grins* Martha I'm willing to give a chance. *laughs*

I'm looking forward to seeing Rose again. I think what I really, really liked about her was her faith in the Doctor. She never really could believe that he couldn't fix it, or come back, or whatever. I like that. He said 'trust me' and she did.

Anywho, thanks for the info. Now I know who to bug with any further questions. ;)

Donna gets better. It's just so subtle you don't notice it until, at some point later, they smack you in the face with it.

Heh, I haven't skipped Martha, I'm on the beginning of that season- so I saw the barest beginning of her first episode. I'm very curious to see more of her.

Sorry you don't get today off. You need to work for the federal government, then your weekend wouldn't be over!!!! Of course, if we lived in the D.C. area, we would get a 4 day weekend!

I agree with others. Donna does grow on you. She becomes a much stronger character and after all of the romantic wooziness of the new Who, her snarkiness is quite refreshing. One of my favorite lines of hers is, "You're not mating with me, Sunshine!"

I liked the romantic wooziness.... *sheepish grin* I will definitely be giving her a chance, just remarking on first impressions. The secretary = idiot bit just irked me, perhaps for obvious reasons. ;)

I'm looking forward to it. The white dragons I have should be engendering today- hopefully one of them is a boy! :)

I really liked the powerful romance between Rose and the Doctor. That was the first time in Doctor Who history that there was that kind of chemistry going on. IMHO it started to become woozy (and a little too emo for me) after Rose left.

Which is kind of funny because Rose was supposed to be rather low-class (at least given where she comes from, etc). I am curious to see much more of Martha and even Donna... But I'm so going to miss Rose.

I never really liked Martha. The woozy love bit annoyed the crap out of me. I didn't like Donna much in "The Runaway Bride" (the one you've seen) but she kicks butt in the fourth season! I wound up loving her as a companion.
