So, this was after he called his wife a c***, right? How many idiots are going to vote for him thinking that she just might do it? Maybe he was just digging the "domestic violence" aspect of the pageant.

Is it really surprising that there are still morons out there that buy into that asinine "stop the commies" argument? Never mind that the only communists we don't deal with (yet) are the Cubans¹! [/further political rantings on the outright stupidity of the Cold War mentality in the first place!]

Well, this is probably just the inevitable candidate clueless of local conditions. It's hard to know the background of a place or event when you're just being hustled there by your handlers for a couple of hours. Still, I've seen McCain's wife. She doesn't look like Ms. . She looks and holds herself like a university dean. Classy, actually Upper Classy. This kind of thing makes me think the marriage is more of a political alliance than anything else.
