Shoot 'Em Up is a fantastic action movie! OMG! So much fun to watch.

In brief- random guy (Mr. Smith) comes to the assistance of a pregnant woman, as bad guys are attempting to kill her. Baby is born. Mayhem ensues. There is much gun fire, utterly OMG!! scenes, and an interesting rather anti-gun message. Oh, and carrots. Lots of carrots.

Other fun bits- Mr. Smith just does these things... like they're driving down the road and this jerk in an expensive car (I can't remember if it's a BMW or Mercedes) is just switching lanes- no turn signal... Just being a jerk. So Mr. Smith goes on a rant about 'how hard is it to use a turn signal!?' and then runs the jerk off the road.

I was cheering.

So I cheered, I laughed, I cringed... FUN! Totally unbelievable- and it knows that. Then again, there are some scenes that are realistic- okay, the reaction to one scene is spot on.

OH! And it has one of the best sex scenes in an action movie. Not as graphic as some- just yeah... *laughs*

So dear reader, if you are a fan of action movies, like to laugh, and love gun shoot outs- I highly recommend Shoot 'Em Up!

It was very over the top. Reminded me of Payback, but it was nonstop action. :)

Very true... plus, unless this was a body double, I can say on some authority that he's got a great butt. ;)

Yeah, a lot like Payback- though I didn't enjoy that movie nearly so much.

that movie cracks me up every time i watch it. i didn't get to see it in theatres, so my family was talking about the gore. but it's like... the best parody of a shoot 'em up movie, without trying to be.

nah. it was like... O.O woah. but got really stupid/funny after awhile.

it was like kill bill was when it came to portraying the gore. but like a soft R rated movie in that the killing wasn't quite so bad. it was a lot less blood than kill bill as well.

Yep, I found it a little more realistic than the deliberately over-the-top Kill Bill stuff, but not by much.

Hmm, I think it may depend on what you expect to see what you start watching the movie. I was pretty much told it was really funny and over the top- so when those things started, I wasn't overly surprised, or 'WTF?' about it.

I wasn't expecting standard action flick- so when I didn't get one, I wasn't upset- I was thrilled!
