Hi, still around. Just in one of those moods where I read lots of posts and think about commenting, and sometimes even think I have- only to find I haven't. Yeah... my brain has wandered in search of warmer weather and forgot to take the rest of the body with it...

In other news, the weekend was blissfully boring! We left the house Saturday long enough to take the hubby's car in for some servicing, had breakfast out, snagged Turbo Tax to prepare for taxes, pick hubbies car up and get a few supplies. Which sounds like a lot, but since everything was pretty much just around the corner from everything else- didn't really take long. The only problem was the weather- there was snow falling, just a little, but the big problem was the wind blowing the snow off the ground and onto the road. Made things a bit more interesting than I like. The rest of the day was pretty much playing Champions of Norrath with the husband, and some stitching while he studied and more Supernatural. Yeah, that's pretty much all I did ALL weekend, save for cooking dinner Sunday night. It was great.

However, there does seem to be a slight problem among the four leggeds in the house. Leo has recently made overtures of friendship to Kyle, by way of attempting to groom his head. Kyle seems to be ticklish and has rebuffed these overtures. This leads Leo to be unhappy. To that end he has apparently decided he has to kill the dog. The first attempt was a small pair of scissors in the bathroom, he oh so casually waved his tail around and knocked them off the counter. These luckily missed hitting the dog by about two feet. Taking note of this, he moved on to the scissors in the kitchen, and again knocked the scissors off the counter with his tail- this time only missing by about 6 inches- and the scissors opened as they fell.

Yeah, hubby and I were trying to figure out how to convince a vet that no, we didn't stab the dog- the cat did. We have, however, moved all scissors to safer, and less tail accessible locations. (which is where they should have been in the first place...)

The final assault of the evening was in form of a small green glass vase holding a few fake flowers. In this instance, Leo DID manage to knock the vase off the shelf and DID hit the dog with it. However, it is very light and only hit the dog on the side with enough force that he almost noticed... The hubby and I were nearly dead from laughing though... On the plus side, Leo now seems content and hasn't tried to kill the dog since then. :)

*giggles*

That SO sounds like something a cat would do, too. I don't dare keep things they can knock down out and yet they always find something else. Last week they knocked a plate off the counter and busted it. ^_^

*grins* Yeah, they're normally pretty good about plates and things. Leo doesn't use his paw- it's all that massive tail he's workin'! ;) And it seems to be all aimed at the dog...

WOW! I hope this doesn't give our cats any ideas of violence toward the dog. They do reasonably well with just whacking the dog on the nose.

Well, that's Sasha's usual tactic, or chasing him around. She does NOT approve of his exhuberance. Not one little bit. And will not hesitate to remind him of his place. Which, is kinda funny if you're me. I mean, you've got this 12lbs of fluff *chasing* a 42 lb dog! And the dog runs from her!

I love cats!!! Seriously: watching them take on a critter that could EAT them for lunch gives a gal true perspective on life. (I say this as someone whose cats have menaced a 125 lb Rottweiler and an 85 lb German Shepherd fairly routinely.)

I can see cats thinking like that though.

"You don't like me? Fine. I'll just kill the dog."

More like "Dog doesn't like me? Okay, I'll just kill him."

Leo-cat doesn't take rejection well. He tried to be nice to Sasha, she wasn't having any of it, so now he chases her. ;)

Anthropomorphizing? Nah, not me. ;)

*grins* It's never boring living with the these three. Though Danger Boy!! does tend to give me the best stories. ;)

I actually laughed out loud thinking of the converstation that would come from such a freak accident.

*giggling* At least your cat is trying to be nonchalant about the whole "kill the dog" ploy. *grinning*
