I said WHAT?!
Oct. 20th, 2006 03:38 pmLast night I said something I never thought I would...
"Sasha! Leave the dog alone!"
Sasha, the 12 lb cat chased Kyle, the 42 lb dog, around the living room. Apparently she just had enough and wasn't just going to sit there while Kyle stared at Leo (the other cat). So she hit Kyle a few times while lying on the blue chair. Then when he moved towards her chair, she jumped over to it, and took a few more swings at him. Poor dog tried to hide between the couch and Sasha's chair- and she kept him cornered there. So he tried to escape by going BEHIND the couch (which is up against the wall, mostly, and has just enough clearance for him to get his body through apparently - we did not know this)- so she jumped to the back of the couch and was following him along the length of it hissing and swatting at him. Hubby and I were sitting on the couch.
By the this time I had managed to stop laughing long enough to tell her the above- and gently put my hand over her shoulder (so as to not get killed) so the dog could actually escape. Then started laughing again. I don't know WHAT pissed her off so much- but whatever it was she was NOT about to let That Dog get away with it.
For those that are new around here... Sasha's the kitty in the icon, and while definitely a diva- I've never seen her just attack before. Prior she's always been of the 'I'm going to hiss at you and pretend I'm tough... Oh damn, you're not buying it... RUN AWAY!' type. She's 9 years old and has been with me since she was about 5 weeks old. Leo is nearly 3, my hubby and I adopted him when he was a 1 year old, and Kyle is about 1.5 years old and we got him last June. Normally it works like this- Leo harasses Sasha and she hisses at him and hides, Kyle wants to play with Leo so he chases him and noses him- Leo will sometimes play but more often seeks higher ground, Sasha doesn't like either boy and usually avoids them both, Kyle avoids Sasha because apparently she told him she was dominant on Day 1 and he believed her.
