jadecat: (Happy Sam)
The weekend started quite early Saturday morning- or at least it felt quite early to me! Had to go to the belly dance class. Class started a bit late because she had jingle scarves (my name for them) for sale. Sure, show three women new shinies and then expect them not to ooh and ahh for a bit. Of course, I picked up a lovely lavender scarf with two rows of coins sewn on. So now when I practice at home I will jingle! :)

Which leads to another entertaining point. When I got home I HAD to show the hubby the scarf, so I dropped it down from the bunched up section in my hands- so that I could fold it- and traumatized a sleeping Leo. Firstly, I wasn't aware that he was sleeping in his pan behind me, secondly, I didn't realize that the sound would scare him from a sound sleep to leaping from the pan (sending it to the floor) across the counter and leave him trying to meld with the front of the microwave. Even after showing him the offense object- he remained quite suspicious of any motion for quite some time.

So the class went quite well, and I am really enjoying it. The afternoon/evening was taken up with gaming down in Ann Arbor. Game was much fun. Of course, seeing all the peoples was a lot of fun too. We ended early- as is usual now- so that hubby could get a nap, and so we could let the poor puppy out of his crate. I know he likes it and all (and I'm usually the one to tell the hubby how his being in there isn't seen by him as punishment) but I think that after having been in it all night, out for only 2-3 hours, and then back in it for 9 hours is a bit much for a young dog. So while hubby napped Kyle and I went for a fast-paced meander around the neighborhood.

Hubby went off to work and I stayed up for a bit to stitch and give Kyle time to be out of his crate. Went to bed too late and slept in too late (oops). Not my fault the animals let me sleep til nearly 12:30! ;) Which means I got up just in time for hubby to get home and take my place in bed. After his nap we were supposed to head out to PetSmart and then Culver's for dinner. Note, supposed to.

Instead I got it into my head that I wanted to go see if we could find Dynasty Warriors 5. So it was off to the mall to GameStop (and EB Games, which is also owned by GameStop people..) and of course neither had it. Though the one had Dynasty Warriors 5 Empires... which I might want later, but would rather play DW5 first. Best Buy didn't even have it- instead we picked up Samurai Warriors 2- which is made by the same company. We never did make it to PetSmart...

Samurai Warriors 2 has very similar game play to DW, it's just set in Japan not China. Movement styles are the same, the same buttons work for things like Musou and mounting/dismounting horses, so it wasn't too hard to just pick up and play. We've only played through two levels- the map was making hubby grumpy, it's a little more complex than the DW maps (which he also sometimes has trouble with)- but had a lot of fun. It's different enough to be novel and interesting, but similar enough to play without getting overly frustrated.

Watched a couple of episodes of Gilmore Girls- one of which actually had the hubby laughing and thanking me for introducing him to the show (so in turn I think [livejournal.com profile] royal_jester for pushing season one into my hands and insisting I borrow it. :) ).

So that was pretty much the weekend. :)
