Oh right, I'm supposed to update...
Aug. 3rd, 2006 09:31 amSilly me, I keep forgetting. ;)
Actually it's more like I keep getting distracted by the things all my lovely friends are writing. Even if I don't actually reply all the time.
So... news. This week has been slightly odd, hubby was home both Monday and Tuesday night, and will be home again tonight... He called off Monday because Tuesday was his last day of class for the term and he wanted the time to study for his exam, as well as finish all these questions the Prof (Special K) required before allowing them to take the test. So it's been really nice having him actually home. It's just different as I got used to the evenings being my time. There was some drama Tuesday morning though... I got a panicked call from him because while he'd saved everything to the flash drive- he'd saved it in the Open Office style, not Word. So Word couldn't read it, which meant he couldn't print it... and panic ensued. In the end he e-mailed the document to me, I have Open Office at work, I saved it in Word format and e-mailed it back to him. And thusly I saved the day.
Also in the news- we are now in possession of a miracle device that makes for much better puppy walking! The device is more commonly known as a Gentle Leader. Basically it has a band that goes around the dog's muzzle (though they're still able to eat, drink, pant and so on) and a band that attaches right behind their ears. The leash attaches at the front of the neck- so when dog pulls he ends up pulling his head down and back towards you. This is generally not what a pulling dog wants. It's working on Kyle incredibly well. Except when he turns nutso-crazy dog and attempts to remove the muzzle band- and looks like he's having a seizure in the process. Luckily this has only happened in front of witnesses twice- and both times they had prior knowledge of Gentle Leaders and didn't seem concerned. Walks will be much better, and longer! now that we have this miracle device, and once the state stops doing it's sauna impersonation.
Hmm? What else? Oh, I'm proud of the hubby- since he's got a break from school he's decided to put in some time volunteering with the Democratic Party. So far this has meant phone calls- like calling people who want to volunteer and letting them know about upcoming times, or getting answers to a short survey. I just think it's great that he's getting involved.
One other thing- dentist appointment today. Yay. Well, it shouldn't be bad- it's just a first appointment/cleaning thing. I'm going to the dentist the hubby went to when he had his dental emergency a month plus ago. He can't regularly see her because of insurance- but he thought she was great, and since they take MY insurance... we're good. The dentist I went to last time just bugged me. I just didn't like him.
I think that's pretty much it. How ya'll doin'?
