Oooh, Wednesday!
Dec. 7th, 2005 09:25 amSo last night was much fun. Drove out to see my elder brother M and his wife B- the official reason was to meet Mr. Griffon- their brand new puppy.
The total is now 3- Codie, Cricket and Griffon. The latter is all of three months old and a very mellow puppers (pictures coming much later). He's mostly tan with a black muzzle and a bit of white along his chest (and the tips of a couple toes are white). According to the Humane Society they adopted him from he's a mix of Lab and Staffordshire Terrier. Of course, they also said he was black and white...
Griffon is such the cute, cuddly lil guy though! Was so much fun to watch him wander, and then hold him and give cuddles. He did try to chew on my fingers- puppies will do that- but was most ammenable to being given a lil bone to chew on instead. On one of his trips outside it was apparently too chilly for him as he let out a couple whiney yips.
Cricket is the mid-size 'Dobie Dog' (she looks JUST like a Doberman or Manchester Terrier in coloring- but she's too small for the first and too big for the latter). She's also Boss Lady. Codie the biggest is willing to let Cricket be boss and had mellowed with age (he's also the oldest and that only makes him about 3-4 I think). Codie is a pure mutt- they thought he was fox terrier when he was born- and thus has a 3/4 cropped tail. He's not though, he's much, much too tall to be a fox terrier. He's really slender and almost all leg. Neat coloring too.
So far the older two dogs aren't given free reign with the baby- he's a bit too little for Cricket's enthusiasm and Codie's klutziness. Soon though.
Oh, and the brother and sister-in-law are doing okay. ;) When I got home I called the hubby to let him know (the weather wasn't good and I told him I would call so he wouldn't worry), and went on and on about the dawgies. Eventually he interrupted me with 'So how are M and B?' Oh yeah, the humans... 'Fine. Griffon has the sweetest face and...'
On the other hand, B did ask if I could send her some Leo pictures, and didn't seem to take issue with my taking pictures of her dawgies but none of either herself or M...
I left there around 10pm, later than I had intended. Then ended up not getting quite enough sleep and the last few hours were uneasy because the husband (who wasn't able to sleep) had left the bed for the couch. This makes for odd sleeping on my part as I know something is missing.
But, I'm in a good mood, I got puppy play time in, and I got kitty cuddles. So all is good. How are ya'll?
