Real Age?

So I get this 'Real Age' e-mail and awhile ago it had a 'Cat Age' quiz and information regarding cat health. Just wanted to share a recent e-mail that I got from them. Not trying to get anyone to look into the group or anything- just read the e-mail and thought "AHA! Take this all you people who think we who talk to cats are crazy!" :)

Converse with Your Cat

August 23, 2005

Talking to your cat can help show affection, control behavioral issues, and improve your relationship with your pet.

Even though you don't speak the same language, your cat can understand much of your tone of voice and body language. From single-word commands to animated speech, an upbeat intonation can help socialize, soothe, or sweet-talk your cat into becoming a better pet.

The Beau and I are falling apart- and before you fret, I mean physically, not our relationship. We're still just as sickeningly in love as ever. In fact- Wednesday we go to apply for our marriage license. :)

No, the bodies... his back has been bothering him again, and his left hand is slightly swollen today. He says he slept funny, I think he's played too much Bejewled on his phone.

Me... oi vey. So Friday I go walking through the parking lot at Meijer and manage to twist my ankle. You see, unlike the fabulous [livejournal.com profile] trista I have the ability to stumble not over pot holes but rather over random air molecules. *nods* It's true. Put me on rough terrain and I'm fine. On even smooth terrain... Yeah. In FLATS no less. I wasn't even in pumps! In flats I manage to stumble and twist both ankles on the SAME STEP and fall into an Alero, not mine though a similar color. The right ankle has since forgiven me, the left- that one's holding a grudge. I had it Ace wrapped last night for a bit- and apparently Leopolde didn't approve. He tried to attack my foot.

Lessee, the wrists are still a pain, but I'm almost used to that by now, so they barely rate a comment. This morning I was snuggling the Beau between the first alarm sounding and the snooze wearing off. See, every morning the alarm goes off once- waking both of us- and I hit the snooze button and then we snuggle and cuddle until the snooze wears off and the alarm sounds again. Is a very nice way for me to wake up, given that I wake up slowly. This morning The Grey decided she was STARVING! OMG!!! and she got up on the bureau- where she's not supposed to be. This leads to me sitting up and snapping my fingers at her and hissing her name. She jumped down and I went to lay back down and heard a distinct 'Pop' in the vicinity of my shoulder. Didn't hurt so I figured something was snapping into place. Oh no... now there's a muscle in my left shoulder somewhere that HURTS! Now I'm the kind of girl who sits up in the morning and rolls my neck and - if it's a good day- hears at least one pop from a vertebra snapping into place. Usually a pop is a good thing, not a 'this'll hurt later on' thing.

Continuing the leftward theme, my lovely eczema- the stuff that has been hanging out on my arms? Yeah, now a patch is developing behind my left ear. And of course, it ITCHES! Now, this is the same area that has the neck muscle that goes all out of whack when I have a sinus migraine. Perhaps the massaging it during the sinus migraine triggered the eczema? Eh, dunno.

On the plus side- the sinuses are MUCH better since I've discovered the gross joy that is the Neti Pot. (I HIGHLY recommend these thingies to anyone with congestion issues- as some of you on my dear fl know. :) )

Lessee, covered the ankle pain, wrists, shoulder, ear, head... and a few minor aches and pains that don't merit their own paragraph.

Okay, this body is not happy. Apparently I am to do something. I know what the result needs to be- I need to drop a few pounds via exercise and thus- getting stronger and healthier - and I need to eat better.

But I have no idea where to start. I don't have the money to join a gym. And while I know that I should eat better- I don't know what that consists of. And I have no recipes for healthy foods. Again with the money thing. I'm not sure I can do it all on my own, and I have no real 'in person' friends in this area to help me out. The Beau is all for eating healthier- but we currently only eat lunch together (which he prepares) and then see each other again on weekends. Oh and I should mention that I'm lazy- and I know that has to change in order for me to accomplish anything.

So where do I start?
