What a bizarre concept. Anyhow. Last week I e-mailed the two people that interviewed me for the Job I Really Want(ed) and Friday I got a reply back from the second interviewer. She reiterated that I was her number 1 pick, and let me know that one of the admin assistants in another department was talking about trying to transfer to Southfield- and did I want her to send my resume to the hiring manager for that position?

Yes please! So I wrote her a very nice message back and will hopefully be hearing something about that job. The organization is great, and I really would like to work there (I think it would be totally cool to work for a company whose efforts I could actually be proud of. ;) ).

In other news... I got a call from my mechanic about the repairs completed two weeks ago- and the next day the coolant light came on. Friday I left work at noon due to the wedding rehearsal for the Beau's sister. On my way home from work I stopped by the mechanic's and got the car looked at. Apparently fixing the intake manifold, etc., gave light to another problem- needed a new water pump. So the car was left there- they promised me they could fix it by 3:30 pm (we needed to leave at 4).

Got home, packed, had a bite to eat. And presto, chango- the car was actually ready. So the nice mechanic brought me my car and the Beau drove him back to the shop. Meanwhile I headed over to the office to pick up the package Fed-Ex had left notice of the day before. Turned out to be a surprise box from me elder sis. :) She so rocks. Had to open the prezzie before we left- and then had to take two of the lovely skeins of yarn she sent with me (Noro brand, dark green silk/cashmere/wool blend!!). The Beau was most thrilled to see the two dark chocolate bunny-heads on sticks she sent (the other two, milk chocolate, are mine!).

We were slightly late to the rehersal dinner (construction slowdowns) so we got to make a fashionably late entrance. Dinner was good, and the company fun. Afterwards was the church for the rehersal. This mostly involved me sitting in a pew watching (since I wasn't actually a part of the wedding) and working on a scarf with my lovely new yarn. Then it was off to the hotel for a sleep. The wedding was to be at 3 pm the next day, but our presence at the church was requested at 11:45 am for pictures. *boggles*

Saturday was a lovely day, got all gussied up and headed to the church and were EARLY! There were many shocked peoples. Had a bite to eat, chatted, had some photos taken. Hurried up and waited... got more of my scarf done (well, ripped out what I had done the night before due to a noticed mistake and restarted). Chatted with the Beau's father (who I've only met on one other, very much less pleasant, occasion- the death of his other son), and was much amused. The wedding itself was nice, the Beau sang his two songs quite well- though not to hear him talk about it. Got to see the future-step-daughter, and she's now sporting a cute little baby-bump. :)

The reception was over fairly early, we saw the bride and groom off and everyone else pretty much dispersed. Though many of the women (myself included) made the transformation to comfier clothes before leaving. Actually, we were there long enough to see the Bride and Groom return to gather some things before heading off for their wedding night. Was kinda funny really.

We got home about 8:30 pm to some VERY non-amused, hungry cats. Sasha refused to be civil for quite some time. Leo just wanted food and to be played with. I'm guessing he was a little bored from 24 hours with no people to play with. Sunday- we did as close to nothing as possible. I didn't even get dressed, just stayed in jammies all day.

Oh, I mentioned the 'One In A Million' balloon I got for admin professional's day? Well, a bit ago I got up and found it at about kid-height RIGHT next to the bed where a child might stand to wake up mom or dad. Startled me. So I cut the weight off of it and it went back to the ceiling. Well, Sunday we opened all the windows since it was so nice. So the balloon started to waft around the apartment. Danger Boy! went into action. Well, he followed it. At one point it floated back into the bedroom and Danger Boy! was laying on the bed watching it. Then it started to float towards him and he retreated to the dresser. He was brave enough to watch it- but it was NOT touching him. Later I was wondering where it got to and walked down the hall and it literally wafted around the corner at my head! It's got it in for me, I'm sure of it. :)

Oops, lunch over- must run. Note- going to a wedding can be very helpful in determining what you do and do NOT want to have at your own wedding.
