Oooh, an update!
May. 5th, 2005 12:46 pmI know I haven't been around much, and I do apologize. Things haven't been going too awfully well in the land of the JadeCat. The job thing has really gotten me down- and while keeping my chin up is a great idea- I'm finding that harder and harder to manage.
I've been searching for a full time job in this area since last August. I've been a temp since August 2003. I WANT a full time, with benefits, job. I just have had absolutely no luck with any of the ones I've applied to. This is more than a little disheartening. So I'm having a hard time even wanting to look for something new- as I seem cursed in the area. Since I was 'let go' from my last 'full time' job back in Sept 2002 (which was a good thing, the boss was just asking for me to kill him) I've had the absolute worst luck in trying to get a job. Apply for everything- hear nothing, or get an interview and no further.
Right now it's also not an option to try my luck in another city- the Beau is in school here, so I can't really ask him to move. Just an extremely frustrating time for me.
So yeah, trying to plan a wedding when the first step the guides tell you is 'decide on a budget' when you have no idea what kind of budget you can have- in large part because you don't necessarily have steady income- makes things a bit tricky. How do you pick a locale, or anything else (catering? music?) when you have no idea what is affordable- and aren't lucky enough to have friends who can 'gift' you with some wedding type things to help out? Though I must say, the elder brother J and his wife did me a MAJOR HUGE favor in asking her dad to perform the wedding itself, and my ultra-cool mom is doing a great thing by purchasing my dress. That just leaves 1,000 other little details I don't know how to tend to.
Okay, the 'down'-ness of this post is getting to me... must end post now and go back to reading other people's posts.
