Not So Good Morning
Jan. 14th, 2005 09:51 amSo the morning started oh so well... *insert loads of sarcasm*
First off the beau couldn't get into his car- the locks were frozen. So he blew a bit of a gasket- this morning was the first day of his chem lab and apparently the prof is a hardass (1 minutes late and you only get 50% credit for that lab, 10 minutes late- no credit, don't have the pre-lab done when you walk in- 50% credit. Fun!). So he's freaking out about being late- but in the end I calmed him a bit, he calmed him a bit, and we got it sorted. Stress and the straight guy don't go well some days. When I left for work he still couldn't get into his car- but was going to walk to a nearby store to get some lock de-icer.
Then I get e-mail from my mom. Apparently last night my Grandpa had a fall and is in the hospital. She and my dad are driving down (she did make a quip about 'just try to get a flight from Michigan to Florida this time of year!'), probably as I write. I couldn't quite tell from the e-mail if his situation is life threatening- but they don't know what caused the fall (it doesn't look like he tripped or simply lost his balance), and he needs to have surgery at some point to repair a broken jaw. Last March Grandpa turned 90, and I would think any surgery at this point would be rather dangerous.
And the smallest of all the details- I forgot to bring my timesheet. So I'm going to have to go out at lunch to run to the office (it's closer than home) and get another one.
Is it too late to go back to bed to try this morning over again?
