So what day is it?
Oct. 13th, 2004 09:36 amThe weekend was a lot of fun, overall. And since Monday was Columbus Day, and I work for a banking company, I had the day off. Add this in with an interview yesterday morning and I had a rather long 'weekend' or break from work. Kinda nice really.
Saturday we played D&D, which was rather fun. We didn't start as early as we usually do, and there seemed to be some trouble getting us moving. Of course, this isn't completely unprecedented. And here's the shocker- I cooked! TWICE! Made breakfast for the beau and myself Saturday morning (scrambled eggs with onion-sadly we had no broccoli- and toast), and then later made spaghetti for the whole crew. See, I can't leave spaghetti sauce alone, I have to play with it. The fresh garlic and onion (yeah, I kinda like them) really added a nice flavor, I thought. There were a few tense moments in game, I must learn to take things less seriously, and not let certain behaviors of other people irritate me.
In other news... Had an interview yesterday. Position could be interesting, but I'm not sure about it. I feel leery, but that could just be because it's a totally unfamiliar situation. The boss lady said that it was down to me and one other woman (who interviewed later that morning) and she wanted to make the decision by the end of the day. I thought that meant I would hear from them yesterday, but I didn't, so I'm hoping to hear some time today. The beau was incredibly sweet and drove me to my interview and then sat and waited for me to be done. He knew I would fret too much if I were to try to navigate myself there (he knew where it was and what getting there entailed and I didn't. I could do it now, but ooh boy, when already a near-basketcase, not good. Sooo not good). Yah, he loves me. :) Monday was the second anniversary of our first date.
After the interview the beau and I headed back to Ann Arbor. Kind of a pain to not have my car at this point as he had to travel with me and then turn around and drive back to Haslett. Poor guy. That and there was a construction delay on 23 and near work. See, we got this e-mail telling us certain drives would be closed because of asphalting, etc. So I tried to go a different route than usual, only to find that no, that particular drive was closed. Given that this building isn't exactly in downtown, or in town really, getting around can be a bit tricky. Doable, but tricky.
I miss my car. I'm eternally grateful to
mightyafrodite for driving me to and from work, especially given everything else she's got going on.
Tired today, stayed up too late talking to DK and BE last night. DK and I had one of our 'air clearing' talks, which went fairly well. Got to say a few things I'd only been thinking, and got some things sorted out. So is good, and today's sleepiness is likely to be worth it.
And last night's "Awww!" award goes to the grey Beast, Sasha. So I'm sitting, watching "Simply Irresistible" and cross-stitching - I have a scroll frame set up in a lap stand. Sasha crossed over my lap going from one couch cushion to the other, and then back again - going under the cross stitch. She decided the frame/fabric made nifty tent and decided to settle down under it. Shortly, after scritching her chin, she trapped my hand. No more stitching for me. I think my baby missed me while I was gone. Soon, soon this will not be a problem.
Heh, in talking to DK last night about the whole 'sense of entitlement' thing I explained that I don't expect to get everything I want (and lord knows I certainly don't!) but I don't see why I can't have everything I want. :) Subtle difference. Wants vs. expects.
Yah, should get back to work.
