So every coupla months my workplace hosts a blood drive. Now, I've participated four times, or at least, signed up to participate. Unfortunately I keep going there and am found to have a 'low hemacrit.' Mmph.
What this means is that I have low iron. I'm a menstrating female, so it's a common enough problem. Just rather annoying to set up the time to go donate, try to do something vaguely helpful for other people, only to find out that my hemacrit percentage is 2-3% points shy of their 'acceptable' range. Part of me would like to know what would happen if they took my blood anyway- what kind of reaction I would have.
Hmm... ah well, I'll keep trying I suppose. Gotta finish collecting the pin set. ;)
The other thing on my mind, I'm debating whether or not to join NaNoWriMo
( www.nanowrimo.org ). I don't think I would produce anything of quality, but trying to discipline myself to actually write 50,000 words in a month might be good for me. More thought needed.
