And no, not about boxers vs. briefs. :)

Though boxers are handsome dogs, and I used to think I would like one. They tend to be very stubborn though, from what I've read. Love the look though.

Speaking of dogs, my brother and sis-in-law have three. They also called me, well he did, they're not one of those cutesy couples that does that 'each one with a phone extension' thing for conversations. Where was I? Oh yes, brother called me yesterday- they were at the ultrasound and it's a BOY! :) So come late December/early January we will be welcoming Ethan Matthew to the clan. :) What else this means:

[livejournal.com profile] jiffjenn, [livejournal.com profile] sarbah77, [livejournal.com profile] esmerel and [livejournal.com profile] kat_lindquist (or any other crocheter-types out there)I need help!! Need advice regarding crochet type things for a lil boyo. My mom is already making a blankie, but hey- more than one could be good right? HELP! :)

Umm, other than that... have the next two days off. Going to spend much time with my husband and little time anywhere near the computer. :)

So I must go now and finish a few things up before the work day is over. :) Okay, I love you bubye!

Mr Bear is an Ethan :-) and if Furuba9 had been a boy, her middle name would have been Matthew! Congrats!

I'd say another blanket is always good (you gotta figure one will be in the laundry), otherwise a little sweater is nice, or if it'll bein winter, a cap. I never did booties, they're so cute but a lot of winter baby stuff has footies. I did have little socks but they just come off half the time anyway.

Have fun!! ;-)

Ethan is a great name. :) The name of my friend [livejournal.com profile] royal_jester's lil boy too. :)

Matthew is my older brother's name. They planned to give a girl my SIL's name as a middle name, and a boy would get my brother's name.

I'm really looking forward to being an auntie.

He's the first grandbaby for my parents, and thus the first kid of one of us kids. So yeah, I'm really excited. :) Thanks.

Thanks. :)

And as you can guess from the time it took me to answer this- I did indeed step away from the computer. And enjoyed every minute of my little vacation. :) I even became a (bottle) redhead again! Oooh...

Congratulations on the newest edition to the family. To help, can you give me the skill level you are at... i.e. what stitches do you know. I know that you know a chain stitch, and a double crochet, but do you know how to read a pattern?

The one I am working for Mrs. M's is pretty simple, but I am sure I can find some easier ones. Also check out www.freepatterns.com. You will have to register (but it is free!)And if you can read a pattern it can be pretty simple.

I can mostly read patterns. Sometimes they confuse me- but I do have a book-thing that explains stitches to me. I almost made a doily once. :) Just had terrible tension and it was all coiling in on itself... I know how to do something that's all the saem color- color changes I don't quite get.

I know single and double stitches, and some 'make a shell' sorts of things, front post and back post confuse me slightly- but there are pictoral illustrations in my booklet. :)

I would say that having more than one blanket is always welcome, not only for the laundry factor, but times of the year. Having a heavier-weight blanket and a lighter-weight one is always good. That way your gift can be used year round! :D

Congratulations for being a soon-to-be Auntie! :D

Thanks, I'm really looking forward to this. :) Heh, given that Ethan Matthew will be living in a house with three dogs, there will be a slobber factor too- so I'm guessing multiple blankies will be just fine. ;)
