For the record, I do read huffpo, and realize that it's slightly left leaning... *grins*

This article cracked me up. It details McCain's '99 problems' in winning.

A couple of my personal favorites:

76. His claim that Czechoslovakia still exists (it doesn't).
75. His claim that Iran is training Al-Qaeda (they aren't).
74. His claim that Iraq and Pakistan share a border (they don't).
73. His claim that Somalia is the same place as Sudan (it isn't).
72. His claim that Vladimir Putin is the president of Germany (he isn't).
65. "C-nt." (<-- Anne comment, this was directed at his WIFE!)
64. "I hate the gooks."
63. His plan to resurrect Bush's plan to privatize Social Security.
62. The writer's rooms of The Daily Show and The Colbert Report.
61. His tarmac birthday party with Bush -- as Katrina made landfall.

The real killer in my eyes *snickers*:
41. The starlet gap: McCain = Heidi Montag; Obama = Scarlett Johansson.

11. Being out-raised by Obama 2:1...in West Virginia.

2. John McCain.

Uh oh...

So I see this picture on the huffingtonpost.com website yesterday, and started giggling. The original article is here

The picture:
Needs Batteries

The thought:

"Uh oh, who forgot to replace Cindy-bot's batteries?" Or is that one of those "please turn off all electronic devices while the plane is in the air" things? ;)

Edwards says no to being VP

“I already had the privilege of running for vice president in 2004, and I won't do it again," Edwards told El Mundo newspaper. He also made similar comments to El Pais.

Hmm, some thought he would be a good choice. Richardson still seems good (to me) and maybe Clinton... though for some reason I'm just not sold on that. Even if A majority of Democrats think Barack Obama should select Hillary Clinton as his running mate, according to a new national poll.

Wow...

Oh Hillary....

Bringing up Bobby Kennedy's Assassination? Wow...

Not a good plan...

I was moved... so I have to share.

Though I must admit that I shudder to think what will happen to this country if someone like Obama doesn't actually believe that he says. I would be okay with attempting to change things- and failing, rather than preaching change and then not really doing anything.

Okay, so I wasn't going to vote for him anyway, but I had to share this link that I saw on [livejournal.com profile] deyaniera's journal.

"Huckabee Covered Up His Son's Torturing and Murdering of Dog"

I know the actions of the son aren't necessarily the fault of the father... but still. Somewhere along the line the son thought this would be an okay thing to do.

The other thing I want to know- What's wrong with the GOP? Why do they dislike dogs? (See Mitt Romney and his dog in a crate on top of the car for a long journey, and Huckabee the Younger... are there more examples?)

Not that I needed another reason, particularly, to be against the guy (I mean really, the complete flip flop he's taken on his views is enough). But I found one without even trying!

This is a clip from a Time Article, the link to the complete article, and the official publication info follows.

"The reporter intended the anecdote that opened part four of the Boston Globe's profile of Mitt Romney to illustrate, as the story said, "emotion-free crisis management": Father deals with minor — but gross — incident during a 1983 family vacation, and saves the day. But the details of the event are more than unseemly — they may, in fact, be illegal.

The incident: dog excrement found on the roof and windows of the Romney station wagon. How it got there: Romney strapped a dog carrier — with the family dog Seamus, an Irish Setter, in it — to the roof of the family station wagon for a twelve hour drive from Boston to Ontario, which the family apparently completed, despite Seamus's rather visceral protest.

Massachusetts's animal cruelty laws specifically prohibit anyone from carrying an animal "in or upon a vehicle, or otherwise, in an unnecessarily cruel or inhuman manner or in a way and manner which might endanger the animal carried thereon." An officer for the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals responded to a description of the situation saying "it's definitely something I'd want to check out."
