So, it's Christmas Eve and I didn't have to work today. Which is good because I had a migraine. Stupid psychotic weather! Anyway, I was productive- managing to go to three different stores- pets needed stuff, and got a present each, Christmas cards were needed for family (and that Hallmark singing toy had to be gotten for the in-laws since it's now tradition), and foodstuffs were needed.

Got all of the above and was on my way out to the car from the grocery store- with nice young man bringing me my groceries- when I realized I had lost my gloves. Well poop. They weren't in the best of shape- black leather gloves that are nearly 7 years old do tend to be a bit beat up... They were part of the first Valentine's Day gift from hubby. :) (the other bit was a black leather winter coat that is still in great shape.)

Anyway, lost gloves, annoying. So I walked the store searching, didn't find. Tried customer service- nothing. Hmph. Came home, unpacked almost everything. Left pet stuff in car. See, hubby's car started having issues this morning on his way home- so he's taking my car. Quick aside- I made him promise, PROMISE me to drive carefully last night/this morning as it was stormy and the night before I had a bad dream wherein he was hurt in a car accident. So he did, and when the car in front of him spun out- ending up in the oncoming traffic lane, but facing in the right direction for that lane- and got rear ended, hubby wasn't involved. It was close though. Instead his car was not putting any heat into the cabin, and the engine began to overheat. But he managed to get home and I made the car an appointment in our favorite shop for Friday. Oi.

Anyway, I nap for a bit (because of migraine) and hubby's cell began to ring (he was still sleeping). Talked to buddy P for a few minutes, but it woke hubby, and I turned the phone over to him. Found out mutual friend A is preggers. Which I had already guessed, given some comments from last summer. This the woman who was very ambivalent about kids, and really not looking forward to that whole 'being pregnant' thing... *sighs*

I explain to hubby about my lost gloves - they were my only pair and as I'm in charge of dog walking because he's working, that could be an issue. So he went to get me one of my Christmas presents early. He bought me a new paid of black leather gloves- with Thinsulate! My old pair were really beat up, and I did need a new pair. Then I went to try them on and they were too small. Disappointing, then hubby made a comment about hating Christmas.

Cue Anne's Meltdown.

It can be hard to stop crying when you're not really sure you're done yet... Hubby held me, and apoligised for his comment, promising to take the gloves back and get a bigger pair. Apparently he didn't know women's gloves came in sizes, and just guessed based on how long my fingers were compared to his, and asking a woman who seemed to have similar sized hands what size gloves she wore. It wasn't really the comment that got to me... I think it was just everything from the past couple weeks adding up. (work has had some bad points- and we employees got a letter explaining how bad things are, and the L word was mentioned. I think I'm safe, because if I'm not there one of the bosses has to be, and Mrs. Boss doesn't really want to be in the office 5 days a week, 8 hours a day...)

The timing was bad though, because hubby didn't have much time before he had to leave for work. But I pulled myself together, and I am feeling better now. Mostly. I'm really not sure where that outburst came from. Though, this is the very first Christmas where I'm not going to see my family ON the day (well, on Christmas or Christmas Eve) we're all getting together this weekend. That might have something to do with it too.

In any case, I DO feel better. And I hope that all of you are having a wonderful Christmas eve (even if you're not Christian and aren't celebrating Christmas. :) ).

Have a great day tomorrow.
