Weekend Adventures!!!
May. 27th, 2008 10:27 amSaturday afternoon was cross stitch shopping with
crwilley, was much fun! I bought stuff that's not my usual style- but looked interesting, in part because it wasn't my usual. But also had to buy Nora C's latest red/purple couture fairy (the name escapes me right now).
Saturday night I intended to veg, as my head was bugging me. But as I had cleaned the bathroom the other night, and got the table unearthed... the coffee table was bugging me. So I had to clean that while kind of watching Lost (still in the first season...). It was strangely relaxing, once that was done. (though of course, in the process of cleaning one place I ended up cleaning several more places. I'm slowly doing a deep clean from one part of the apartment to the other...)
Sunday morning was hubby cuddles- but as he had to work, and my mom was asking, Kyle and I trooped up to Midland. Saw one brother (EB M, and SIL B and the Nephew E) but not the other brother. Which worked out better I think, because if cousin Sophie had come over to play with Kyle- with the addition of the nephew, there could have been problems. As it was, Kyle kept trying to clean E's face, and when someone would pick E up, Kyle got confused. Near the end of the day Kyle was sitting in front of the plate glass window staring avidly at the squirrels on the ground. Note, my parents have a bird feeder several feet from the window, and the birds toss seeds all over the ground. So the squirrels are happy, and hang out. E wandered over to the seated Kyle (who was quivering with repressed excitement) and tried to put his arm around him... Kyle didn't quite get up, but scooted over a few inches in an attempt to get away from the little boy. Couldn't E see he was busy? So E got closer, and Kyle scooted away again. I had to laugh as they continued this, until Kyle ran out of window, at which point he got up and ran to the sliding glass door. ;) It was fun watching the two of them interacting.
I left later than I planned, because I realized that driving west, as the sun was setting was awfully silly. Then again, leaving right afterwards- at dusk- could also be problematic thanks to deer... there were a lot of them on the sides of the road as I was driving up. (side note- my car has been acting silly lately with warnings, and now the driver's side rear window refuses to stay up, matching the passenger side rear window. So now they're both glued in place..) I told my mom if a deer hit me I was calling her, since hubby was at work. I then remembered the Mini I saw for sale on the way up, and told her than if my car was totaled, she could always buy the Mini, which I would drive until we move, and then she could have it! What a great idea right? We move, she gets the Mini AND Kyle! Yeah... she has agreed to the latter, but I couldn't get an agreement on the former... Ah well. I suppose it's a good thing I didn't get hit by a deer afterall. Though having a Mini would be so much fun!
Monday- slept in, cuddled hubby. Then did some random stuffs while waiting for him to wake up. had breakfast, made coffee, took a shower (trying to fight my migraine)... accidentally woke him up, had a bit of a weight melt down. Talked to him for a while, felt guilty for keeping him from his sleep. Eventually walked dog and hubby went back to sleep for a bit. The meds eventually kicked in, and by the time we needed to get ready to go to
zen_kitty's I was feeling better. Hubby was tired, but mostly awake...
Visiting with
zen_kitty and her hubby is always fun. He grilled some yummy foods! Chicken, potato slices, asparagus. Wow... most tasty. Hubby and I learned a new card game- and the cats beat the men folk! :) Was much fun, and funny. Excellent conversation, and a lot of laughter.
Only to get home and see that Kyle wasn't feeling well... Hubby took him out while I cleaned the little mess from his crate. Apparently he got sick while he was outside with hubby- I'm glad that wasn't in his crate to! Dunno if he got into something at my parents or what. Meanwhile the cats were expressing their displeasure at being starved to death!!! Eventually everything was taken care of, cleaned, fed, and less unhappy. ;)
Now I'm at work, and should probably do some!
