Hello again
Apr. 29th, 2008 09:56 amFirst things first- hubby has to work this weekend, Friday, Saturday AND Sunday. Boo. However, his weekends for the rest of May look pretty good.
So, any writer friends want to meet at wither the internets cafe, or the non-internets cafe for a writing day either Saturday or Sunday (both?)? Each location has its pros and cons. But seeing writer friends is always a plus. :)
Did I write about the weekend? Hmm, don't think so. Well it was fun. :) Saturday was gaming, and we had a Special Guest viewing the game (normally She Who Is In Charge of games doesn't allow people to just observe, but the Special Guest is a loooong time friend of hers, whose son is actually in a different game with SWIIC. So it was allowed). SG was fun too because she began interviewing the characters, this was new, and highly amusing. At one point DH had everyone laughing so hard they were nearly crying. Note: he's playing an Ewok shaman/thief who seriously believes that need should control ownership.
Sunday was a 'do nothing' day, and we greatly enjoyed it. :) Well, I woke up with a migraine, but took meds, had coffee, and breakfast and all was good. Again, the new meds are not working so well. I like the old ones, they work. However, NP was concerned about my blood pressure being high. In order to get a handle on whether or not there's something to be concerned about, we bought a home blood pressure checker. I'm to take my BP at varying times during the day and note the circumstances. It's looking like my BP is only high when I have a migraine... gee... When I'm more relaxed it's lower, still in the high end of 'normal' but definitely not something to worry about- yet. A relief really. Exercising and eating better will help lower it, which means I have to do more of that.
On to last night, Mrs Boss had been raving about these shoes she got, and they are really cute. Always in need of new shoes, I made hubby go to Target with me last night to see if we could find them. We're wandering the shoe aisles, about to start down one, I glance and note two people in the aisle. Just a glance, didn't tell me anything more than two people were there, when suddenly I heard "Anne! They're right here!" from Mrs. Boss. Scared me! *grins* She had purchased the brown shoes and came back for the black version. After trying them on, I had to concur that they were both really cute, and comfortable. Weird, right? So we chatted for a bit and she went her way and we went ours.
( I HAD to buy them, right? )
Afterwards it was off to Claddagh for dinner. Claddagh, if it's not obvious, is an Irish themed pub. Excellent food, that I partook too much of... Though I was 'adventurous' (for me) and tried new things. So it's a win. Going to bed within two hours of eating... not a bright idea, but staying up later wasn't really possible (see "new meds are not working so well"). However, we did manage to wander over to Schuler Bookstore (right next door...) and found a 'Living and Working in Ireland' book- so we had to buy it. And, since a couple of my friends have been praising
ilona_andrews- I had to buy their first book Magic Bites, 'cause it looks really good.
So yay, new shoes! (I got brown and black too...) Yay new books! Things are well, provided I get something to do this weekend....
