The Weekend

Okay, so the weekend was pretty good. Saturday was down to Ypsi for the gaming. We drove past the house we like there (Plan B should Ireland not work) and saw that the house across the street was also for sale, so we grabbed one of those flyers. It’s smaller (by a lot) but we had been thinking that house we like would be more house than we need. Plus this second house has a much bigger back yard. So it goes on the list of “Plan B possibles,” once we see the inside. The other consideration is that it's about $40K cheaper than the other house. It claims to have been ‘Winterized.’ Yeah, we don’t know what that means either.

Sunday was a very nice sunny day. Hubby woke me, saying it was 10:30, and thus time to get up. I was quite pleased to tell him that no, it was 9:30, I hadn’t set the clock back before going to sleep. However, I was willing to get up. This made him laugh (as perhaps will those others who saw the Arlo and Janis for Sunday- our friends in Ypsi get some of the Sunday paper on Saturday… I don’t know why, so we saw the comic when we were there the day before).

It was off to the dog park for a bit- my ankle was feeling pretty good and Kyle was getting crazy with energy as it had been a week since he’d been able to really run. We met up with someone we knew there, his dog Connor is always fun. Met a new woman when her dog started playing with Kyle. The boys were in love… We ended up capturing her for a walk around the oval because Kyle and Zeus wouldn’t be separated. However, her old chow/something mix had to be put on leash because the poor, old nearly blind/deaf dog kept losing his momma. If he got confused he would turn and trot off the other way looking for her. We made it around once, though I was keeping a relatively slow pace- so we got passed a lot.

We stopped by the front to say goodbye to our new friends- though Kyle was not happy to let Zeus go. He found a Boxer to play with, so was consoled. Save for the little fact that the boxer was more interested in the little female American bulldog than in Kyle… Can I just mention that I really don’t like intact dogs going to the dog park? The boxer tried to pick a fight with Kyle simply because Kyle got too close to him while he was trying to mount the bulldog. And his owner had no voice control over her dog at all. So we were not happy, and started around the track again to get the dogs separated.

We got back around and were saying our goodbyes when an overly large golden retriever went into a run after a ball. Somehow this necessitated running into the back of my legs… This time, however, I did not fall on my ass. Yay! Ankle and knee got jarred, and I was limping more on the way out… but was okay after getting a chance to rest it at home. Hubby got quite annoyed with the guy who threw the ball- who did apologize. He told the guy to next time make sure not to throw the ball AT people, and that I already had a sprained ankle. The guy tried to explain that he hadn’t thrown it at me, but that it had bounced off the dog’s nose… Yeah, still not a good idea to throw the ball in any direction wherein there are a lot of people… still okay though, knee wasn’t too happy, ankle was mildly complaining, but I didn’t hit the dirt- so it’s an improvement. ;)

Then it was home to reload iTunes with the rest of my CDs and work on NaNo… which didn’t actually get going until much later, so I’m a little behind. Must work on that tonight.
