So... yeah
Jan. 9th, 2007 12:21 pmNo posting over the weekend, which isn't terribly uncommon for me. No posting yesterday because the head was going poundy, and the stomach and intestines were having some sort of argument, I don't know what was said- but both sides were fairly rude. so yeah, no posting yesterday, and very little commenting.
Today is so far looking to be better, which is odd. Odd considering I spent the night on the couch because I didn't want to keep waking up the poor hubby (since he worked till midnight last night and is covering for his boss for the next few days so went from 4pm-12am shift to 8am-4pm shift for the next two days). He was supposed to go back to his 'regular' shift on Thursday, but took the day off...
Slept on the couch, and once I was able to sleep, I actually slept pretty well. Sasha wandered back and forth between the living room and the bedroom as she tried to decide which parent to settle down with. I think she settled down on the hubby's ankles, mine were moving too much and disturbing her much needed sleep. I know, terrible of me.
So far today so good- got the husband off to work on time (he even had time to walk the dog and clean the snow off my car. :) ) and got myself to work on time (though I had to bring breakfast with me). The head is grumbling quietly, but not poundy, so that's a definite plus. And the peace talks in the middle-section seem to be successful. All good.
So the weekend- too much fun. Even if I did have a fairly intense migraine on Sunday. Saturday saw the hubby and I heading to Ann Arbor to celebrate![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
sarbah77's birthday- she got together a bunch of us to play whirlyball. Something I had never done, but was looking forward to (contrary to the few eons ago when frawg_angel tried to talk me into going. See now when I'm terrible at something I can laugh and have fun (and note the bits I did well at) whereas as a teen all I would have seen was how badly I did and would have gotten cranky.
In any case- whirlyball was much fun. Meetingsarbah77's friends/co-workers was fun too. All in all, a very good day.
Sunday started slow- as I commented to the hubby, I felt hung over without having had the fun of drinking the night before. Headache got worse and I took meds in vain. Still went to see the nephew though. Two of my aunts and one of my uncles were there- so it was a nice visit. Was especially good when I could just sit there and cuddle baby- better for my head and in general calming.
The little EMPer is a pretty calm fellow. The Bro and SIL have two sizable dogs (especially when you weigh slightly under 10lbs!) and little EMP is perfectly fine when they stick their big heads in his face (something that's discouraged by EMPs mom and dad), and he doesn't even startle when they bark. The dogs' reaction is funny though. Cricket (the 'Dobie Dog') is sooooo much calmer than she used to be, and is really quite curious as to what EMP is, and actually when she was curled up on the couch next to me, with part of the baby draping over her back- she was perfectly fine. Codie, the 'Big Dog' (though it's pretty much all leg), is protective of 'his baby' and gets a little concerned when he first sees someone other than mom and dad holding his baby. He doesn't do anything more than pace and go to mom and dad for reassurance though. It's really quite sweet.
Had a lovely visit, enjoyed watching the hubby and Elder Brother playing Lego Star Wars for the PS2. Mid-evening the EMPer woke up and was looking around (kinda, he doesn't have much vision now), making some noise and just generally being fairly content (unless his blankie was being adjusted, or his diaper changed... currently nakedness is NOT approved of).
Yesterday was, well- there. See comments above. ;) Today is okay. Though I started this entry at 9 amish and it's what time now? Ah well, lunch soon. Which today means a hastily grabbed sammich, taking the dog to talk to a tree (briefly) then hopefully a 20 minute nap... Though I'll settle for 15. Maybe. ;)
