The husband has started a new clinical rotation- this 6 weeks it's maternity (luckily at the brand new Sparrow Mother & Baby area). He was sooooo dreading it- but it looks like it'll actually be easier than he was expected. For one thing- he's not allowed to do many assessments, and none of them on his own. That whole 'he's male' thing. Also, it's a good thing he doesn't want to work maternity since he and the one other male student have been told that the majority of hospitals wouldn't hire them- lawsuits being what they are these days.

However, this rotation starts at 7 am on Thursdays. Oh, and he has to ride a shuttle from a parking lot to the hospital. This means he has to leave the house at 6:15 am, roughly. Rough it is too since we're not used to getting up that early. Means an early bedtime is required. It's a good thing he was still scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday nights off. He actually CAN go to bed early Wednesday night- as opposed to getting out of work at midnight, hurrying home and only getting about 4 hours of sleep. Which is good for me- cause otherwise he'd get cranky... And I might have to kill him. ;)

In other news, one of his co-workers quit- and a replacement hasn't yet been hired. So his scheduled is all messed up.... again. Currently- Monday and Tuesday it's 4pm-12am, W-F off, Saturday AND Sunday 12am - 12pm. At least until another supervisor gets hired. But here's where it gets fun. Their chief- who has to interview the supervisor candidates- got fired. So they have an interim chief and it's unknown whether or not he'll be interviewing people. AND the site coordinator (a half step between chief and supervisor) has put in for the chief's job. So... yeah.

It will be nice to have the husband home during the evenings- and since he's scheduled for Thursdays off this means he'll have Thanksgiving off this year. However, one of the reasons we got married is because we really enjoy spending time together. So it would be nice IF WE ACTUALLY COULD! I will be so glad when he gets his LPN license and starts working somewhere else. At least then if his schedule is messed up it's for new reasons. ;)

Hmm... other than that. Still gearing up for NaNo. Last night's DIPPY challenge was funny- for the first half hour I couldn't get ANYTHING down that I liked. Madame Muse was out for dinner and drinks apparently, with a character I created long ago named Mykal. Myk wanted some attention, so when they came home stumbling drunk I gave Myk some writing time and it flowed oh-so much better.

As for the furry ones... Sasha is still boss of the house. Leo is a little too smart... he's taken to egging on the dog, running away- so Kyle will chase him- and running right past Sasha. Who hisses and growls at Kyle. Kyle seems to still be having tummy trouble. This morning when I was getting ready for work I could actually hear his tummy/digestive tract making strange noises. He hadn't eaten anything either (he didn't want breakfast) so we need to figure out what's going on with that. I gotta wonder, with his sensitive tummy, how he possibly made it as a stray.

Me? I'm writing more- which feels so good! Working on a blankie for the coming nephew- and as I see from their baby registry said lad is due January 6. :) So the blankie I just sorta started last night after buying all the needed yarn. And the Saturday morning belly dance class seems to be going well. Reminds me that I should practice though...

So that's that.
