This past weekend was really quite restful. I don't remember doing much of anything Friday night- save TV watching, stitching and napping. Oh, and taking the dog for about a 45 minute walk. Oh yes, now I remember, I was quite grumpy/frustrated in general, and then began to have issues with the DVD player. It didn't want to eject disks. Apparently it really wanted to hold onto my Dawson's Creek DVD (oh just hush), either that or it was punishing me for watching it. In the end it was either take a nap or violently retrieve the DVD. I opted to nap. It was nice, I had the Podling (Leo) on the back of the couch, Sasha sleeping on me, and the Doggins on the floor next to me- and we all napped. :) Hubby got home right around 12:30 (which is somewhat early for a Friday) and I decided that I needed pizza... So that was ordered and consumed before one last walk with the dog and sleeping.
Saturday was quite good. Had some lovely early morning cuddles with the hubby, and then we wandered down to the Red Cross to donate a pint. Entertainingly- we're both A pos. We headed down there following my whim- brought on by 1- a second Red Cross call for the hubby requesting his blood, and 2- a guy on Grex is willing to send in $18 (or 3 months membership) to anyone who donates blood (he will either believe their statement or request proof. Apparently he just believed me.). That #2 was really not much of an inducement- #1 had much more impact. Plus I was curious to see if I even could donate blood- the last three times I tried I was turned away due to having too low of an iron count. Well, I've been taking an iron supplement, as well as other vitamin supplements- so I was hoping they were working. (side note- I have to take several different vitamins because I can't take a multi-vitamin due to the amount of vitamin C) The vitamins are working and both hubby and I were able to donate.
It was kind of funny- we were the only non-staff people there (we did arrive about an hour before they closed for the day). So we were called at the same time- and ended up on beds with our heads closest to each other. He was out there first and then started talking to me- and the nurse who came over was looking a little confused. He explained that we were married, and she laughed- saying that she thought it was an awfully odd time for a guy to try to pick up a girl. But it was a good experience, and there were guilt-free cookies to eat afterwards. :) I like cookies.
Then there was Subway for lunch, and grocery shopping. Of course we forgot two or three of the things we wanted - even though we had a list. Okay, so those items didn't make the list and I was feeling a bit off- but still! But yeah, came home, watched some Dog Whisperer- napped with the hubby and took the pup for a walk while the hubby napped some more (he works Sundays 12am-12pm). I gave blood from my left arm- so pup was confused as to why he was walking on the right side. 'Course, he was paying more attention to me than usual- which is a plus. I also called my aunt about this weekend- and she's eager to puppy sit... and the cats too.
Sunday was a big ole pile of nothing. I did some stitching, walked the dog, made dinner, fixed the formating and pictures in the hubby's major school project- and that's about it. In other words- thoroughly enjoyable. :)
