(no subject)

So, I recently did one thing that has had three reactions- 1, I feel like I've lost 5 lbs, 2, my husband is looking at my like I'm a whole new, very sexy, woman, and 3, apparently I look years younger and slimmer.

What did I do, you may be wondering? I cut my hair. Big deal right? Well, considering that when I started my hair was a little over 24 inches long and now it's pretty much all under 2 inches long.... yeah, it's a big deal (to me at least). I have bangs again for the first time in years and years. It's all short!

I still find myself doing 'long haired person' things, like moving to remove my hair from my shirt collar when getting dressed. Or preparing to sweep it out of the way when laying down. These things are no longer necessary. But, like the person who has worn glasses for years and then gets contacts realizes- you still try to push your glasses up your nose sometimes.

So far- it's fun! Co-workers have been giving me shocked looks. Mr. Boss said it was very nice. Mrs. Boss was just stunned. And it's amazing what having less pressure on one's head can do...

The stylist was a little concerned at first- but as I talked to her about how long I'd been wanting to do this and how I'd had the picture of the style I wanted for over a year- she relaxed. The ponytail that was cut off, roughly 11 inches, will be donated to Beautiful Lengths. An organization, in part, run by Pantene that creates wigs for women who have lost their hair due to chemo treatments.

Pictures will be forthcoming, as soon as I get the roll of film developed (my stylist asked for a before and after shot too). I had hubby take pictures before we left for my appointment and after we got back. Until then-
