Is it Monday already?
So, the weekend didn't start off well at all. Got into a disagreement with a friend regarding plans for Saturday (see my last post). So I spent the evening off and on in tears. Which is always just so much fun. Blathered on and on about it to the hubby, thankfully he's willing to listen to that sort of thing.
Saturday we followed through on the plans that were set earlier last week, and actually got to Foods for Living. That would be an organic food store in the area, hubby and I agree that if we were rich we'd do a lot more shopping there. As it is we really can't afford to spend $6+ for some asparagus that would be like $2 at Kroger (if that). We didn't realize that it was Earth Day, so that was kind of cool. Also managed to hit Hobby Lobby on a sale day and picked up a floor stand that will hold my Q-Snap on sale for half off (this was my reward for a weeks' worth of exercise and staying within my allowed calories).
Saturday night was too brief, of course, as the husband had to head into work at midnight. Luckily this is only for about three more weeks. Once the term is over he'll be back to working through the week, but will have weekends off again. In theory he'll also be getting a raise in the next month or so as he will have been in his present position for 5 years. Hopefully that goes through and his company doesn't find a way of denying the raise.
Sunday I actually got up early- called the husband to make sure he was awake (12 hour shifts when you've been up all day the day before- suck) and then actually put in 30 minutes on the Ellipse. I'm rather proud of myself. My endurance is increasing so it takes a bit longer before I feel like I want to quit (I'm up to a 20 minutes now before I'm noticing that it's work). Luckily the music I've been listening to (the XXX soundtrack) keeps me going for the full 30 minutes (or 35 if I really want to push myself).
Apart from the morning stuff, Sunday was kind of a lazy day. After the hubby got home we had sandwiches and talked about stuff, then there was napping, and later stitching while we watched Gilmore Girls. There was a conversation with a friend about the Saturday issue- and it seems like that whole thing is almost taken care of. I'm still a bit upset at how things were handled, but I think I've gotten as much satisfaction from the events as I'm going to. So I'm feeling better about it, at least.
Overall, the days away from work were good. Just wish there were more of them. ;) As a plus side we did get to see the new Ron White comedy- the title leading to my newest favorite phrase- You Can't Fix Stupid. I like it, I like it very much. :)
