Is it Monday already?

So, the weekend didn't start off well at all. Got into a disagreement with a friend regarding plans for Saturday (see my last post). So I spent the evening off and on in tears. Which is always just so much fun. Blathered on and on about it to the hubby, thankfully he's willing to listen to that sort of thing.

Saturday we followed through on the plans that were set earlier last week, and actually got to Foods for Living. That would be an organic food store in the area, hubby and I agree that if we were rich we'd do a lot more shopping there. As it is we really can't afford to spend $6+ for some asparagus that would be like $2 at Kroger (if that). We didn't realize that it was Earth Day, so that was kind of cool. Also managed to hit Hobby Lobby on a sale day and picked up a floor stand that will hold my Q-Snap on sale for half off (this was my reward for a weeks' worth of exercise and staying within my allowed calories).

Saturday night was too brief, of course, as the husband had to head into work at midnight. Luckily this is only for about three more weeks. Once the term is over he'll be back to working through the week, but will have weekends off again. In theory he'll also be getting a raise in the next month or so as he will have been in his present position for 5 years. Hopefully that goes through and his company doesn't find a way of denying the raise.

Sunday I actually got up early- called the husband to make sure he was awake (12 hour shifts when you've been up all day the day before- suck) and then actually put in 30 minutes on the Ellipse. I'm rather proud of myself. My endurance is increasing so it takes a bit longer before I feel like I want to quit (I'm up to a 20 minutes now before I'm noticing that it's work). Luckily the music I've been listening to (the XXX soundtrack) keeps me going for the full 30 minutes (or 35 if I really want to push myself).

Apart from the morning stuff, Sunday was kind of a lazy day. After the hubby got home we had sandwiches and talked about stuff, then there was napping, and later stitching while we watched Gilmore Girls. There was a conversation with a friend about the Saturday issue- and it seems like that whole thing is almost taken care of. I'm still a bit upset at how things were handled, but I think I've gotten as much satisfaction from the events as I'm going to. So I'm feeling better about it, at least.

Overall, the days away from work were good. Just wish there were more of them. ;) As a plus side we did get to see the new Ron White comedy- the title leading to my newest favorite phrase- You Can't Fix Stupid. I like it, I like it very much. :)

So last week Tech-I-Don't-Like was in when it came time to have the printer at my desk taken out and shot... err... cleaned See, I must have gotten a bad toner cartridge for my color laser printer- it was vomiting blue on everything, inside the printer, on pages, etc. So I ordered new toner and Mrs. Boss said to have whatever tech that was here- clean it out. So it happened to be when Tech-I-Don't-Like was here. (to be fair, I'm sure he's a perfectly nice kid- I just don't like him. There's something about his personality that bugs me. Plus he wears way too much aftershave/colonge-however it's spelled, and he LEANS ON MY DESK! No one else does, just him...)

Anyhow, I ask said tech to clean the printer. He takes it away and does something with it. When it came back there was still toner in the paper tray and visible in a few other places- so *I* cleaned that up. Stupid.

Then I couldn't get the thing to print again! I checked all the plugs and everything was fine. I cleared the print queue from my computer, and even played with the JetDirect box thingie. Still nothing. So today I asked one of the engineers to take a look.

Literally, he LOOKED at it. Played with no buttons, just asked it to print. And the stupid thing DID! So now it's all fine. Apparently it didn't like the looks *I* was giving it. It wanted the cute engineer to give it looks...

Okay so the last bit- the 'oh look, it's fixed' is actually mock annoyance. It's rather funny, and only slightly annoying.
