Apr. 11th, 2006 10:17 amGoodness... Had the worst time crawling out of bed this morning. Just did NOT want to do it, was warm and snuggly and there was a hubby to cuddle. Until I kicked him out of bed so he could get ready for class, and I could get another 10 minutes of snoozing in. :)
Still, am tired and have absolutely no desire to work. Mrs. Boss is off in another state (son having surgery) and Mr. Boss is off at meetings. Still, I should try to rouse myself to get a few things done. ;)
-- So I started this quite some time ago, but then actually got distracted by some work, so now I'm back, or something.
Actually, I don't have all that much to say... Watched more of season 1 Gilmore Girls last night- quite enjoyed watching Rory's first dance. The dance scenes were great, and I was attempting to explain to the hubby how they're (in my mind) the way most girls would dream about a dance going (especially in a hostile school social setting). The Boy was clearly with the Girl, snubbing other girls, he defended her from a jerk.. All fun.
Then they had to wreck it with the 'we fell asleep' ploy that every single show with a teenager pulls. Bleah. I just don't buy it. Maybe it's because I don't tend to just fall asleep like that, I dunno. When I was dating, eons ago, and was in a situation that involved sharing sleeping space with someone else I could never just 'fall asleep.' For one thing I had to get used to their breathing- having generally slept alone up until then. The other persons mere presence kept the mind awhirl, so that 'oh, we fell asleep' thing? No. Never happened. It was always an effort to relax myself in order to fall asleep.
On the other hand, maybe I'm just uptight and should let it go. ;) But does EVERY show have to have it? (Even Life Goes On did it eons ago.) It seems like a cheap shot- very easy to do and causes all sorts of fun conflicts. Lorelai fighting with her mom, and Rory... Too easy. How about Emily and Lorelai getting into a big blow-out due to curfew times or something (Emily said 11, have Lorelai say 2 am or something)... Eh, I dunno.
