Mar. 6th, 2006 05:08 pmHey! I'm, um, here. Did I mention that I took today and tomorrow off? Whee, paid vacation! Not that I'm doing anything terribly exciting with them- just hanging out with the hubby (who has spring break this week and thus no school, and has no work tomorrow night- but does have to work today).
Today was terribly exciting- we went and got him another set of scrubs for school; though, that was nearly an adventure as he wasn't quite sure where the store was, so we were driving around varying plazas across from the Lansing Mall- and he was about to turn out of the lot and drive the opposite way when I spotted a sign with 'scrubs' on it. So he got his scrubs. Then it was off to the Lansing Mall for lunch at Olga's. Last week a guy came around work and handed out their bonus cards- every day is $.50 off, then there are double and triple days, all Mondays in March are triple days- which was part of our decision to go. Then it was to Vicky's for a new bra, and Game Stop to ponder getting a new game- and we didn't.
Yesterday was nearly as exciting- what with the trip to Kroger, Target and Pier One. Kroger was for soda, and Target (right next store) was supposed to just be for batteries... Yeah, $50 later... I have a nice new maroony t-shirt that's actually cut very flatteringly for me, he has swim trunks, socks and we got two movies (they were $5.50 each! how could we say no to Center Stage and Stargate- Ultimate Edition- the movie not TV show- okay, many people could say no, but we're not among them). Pier One ended up not having chair cushions that I wanted (but it is in the same Plaza with Kroger and Target) but did have bowls that will be great for cereal. Our current bowls aren't really good for cereal- the lip is too broad.
Saturday was a lot of fun really. Got to see Baby B- she's getting so big! According to her Daddy the doctor said she's 2 full months ahead on height and weight, and she's quite talkative. M gave us lots of studio pictures of her- and one of the whole family- which DH and I framed already. Unfortunately she's not really smiling in her studio pictures, she's got the cutest lil smile. :) Both DH and I got lots of cuddling in, and only got a little spit up on us. ;) The day was mostly spent in conversation and movie watching, so quite low-key, but I'm good with that. I do feel for M though, her hubby is working in construction and his current gig has him out of town Monday through Friday- so it's just M and Baby B and M isn't currently working, so she doesn't always have a lot of outside interaction. So that's got to be a bit of a challenge.
All in all I'm having a very relaxed vacation. Which is just what I wanted. :) And plenty of time with the DH, which is also what I wanted. Now, I'm going to vacate, watch Kiera Knightly as Elizabeth Bennet (which may truly hurt as I just saw Domino- and quite enjoyed even though it was way weirder than I thought it was going to be) and sort beads for the little angel project I'm working on. Though
losgunna probably has it all done already. :p (Speaking of,
losgunna did you sort the beads out before using them or just pick the ones you needed as needed?)
Back laters!
