The Weekend
Feb. 27th, 2006 03:00 pmWas good, but way too short!
Starting with Friday- had plans of the gaming variety, which got a little skewed.
royal_jester and friend C managed to make it okay, though apparently there was more traffic than they thought there would be.
losgunna had some car trouble- totally understandable. So the game got off to a on/off start as we'd go, halt, dicuss some stuff, and keep going. Leo was most sociable, attempting to help
royal_jester with her dice, though not trying to make off with them. Oh, and
losgunna I have a few thoughts for your character... will try to call you in the evening sometime this week- good?
All in all Friday was decent. Saturday was much fun! Got to see
sarbah77 as planned, and
losgunna surprised me by showing up at the cross stitch store. Was great fun to shop and have ice cream! with them. Even tagged along with
sarbah77 to Borders and procured a birthday present for the DH. His birthday isn't until the end of March, but I find it's easier to pick up things one at a time in advance. After shopping was going home and showing off the plunder. Including this lovely: http://www.therockinghorse.com/february06images/06-1378.jpg
That's going to be a bitch. It's all stitched, no back stitching and the pattern doesn't 'look' like anything to me. So, may end up learning to grid AND park on one project. :) I'm looking forward to it.
Lessee, so Saturday evening was tame, watched "Zathura" which was so much fun! Now I have tendency to say 'Grandma!' at strange times... One teeny moment in a movie and I've latched onto it. For those not in the know, the movie is about two brothers- squabbling of course, and quite humorously- who begin to play this space game - Zathura and end up in space, in their house. It was actually a lot of fun, and quite funny.
Sunday was shopping at Foods for Living, or something like that. Needed some neti pot salt, and ended up getting several things. Isn't it always the way? Got a really nice jasmine selling soap- each batch lovingly made (according to the label). It's made somewhere here in Michigan. Seems like good stuff. And then it was mostly relaxing- and watching Doom. Which was loud, but fun. And Karl Urban. :)
Ooh, it's late... I've been working on this entry on and off all afternoon. The phone has been ringing like crazy! So must go finish some stuff up - and will talk to you all tomorrow. :)
