Nov. 7th, 2005 09:00 amNo baby. They sent her home for the weekend and she's due back in today. (heh, no pun intended) They offered to leave the inducer thingie-mabob in overnight Friday- but M didn't think that would be good for herself or the little one.
So that was Friday night. Drove up to Alma to hang out at the hospital for a bit, and then went to Taco Bell because M wanted to. That part was a lot of fun. M's hubby J is a really great guy- and I love watching the two of them together.
Saturday got a weird start. We slept quite late- the DH hasn't slept well the previous two nights and I was just tired, so we got a very slow start. But, we did eventually get up, got ready to go to Game and then while watching for friend D to show up the hubby wandered off to the store to pick up 3 things and get gas. The three things I wanted were- baby carrots, ranch dressing and Tylenol Severe Congestion pills. He did get those three things, he also got potato chips, dip, salsa and tortilla chips... Silly man. So D. got to our place after two, and shortly thereafter hubby got home and then I was trying to rush them both out the door in order to get to game. We were supposed to be there by 3- as DK had asked us last time we were there. Apparently I was supposed to remember this and neglected to inform the boys. Hmph.
Game didn't get a lot accomplished, and while I had fun during some of it I'm beginning to see some of the same patterns returning- patterns that caused me to have issues last time. That being that the GM gives us a hundred clues that lead in different directions with absolutely NO sense of which are the important ones. So the characters are left flailing around in a 'so what the hell do we do now?' sort of way. If we don't act the world ends, but which herring are we to chase? We'll see how the next sessions go. I'm just tired of being the only one that's willing to say anything to the GM about how the game is going- if that comment is negative. Though there are times when I'll be somewhat grumpy on the way home, but by the time we get to the next game I've forgotten about it. Which tells me it can't be that much of an issue.
In any case, got home after Game and the Hubby wasn't feeling all that well- cold/congestion. He ended up sleeping in his recliner because sleeping in bed had him too flat and he wasn't able to breathe. Poor baby. Ended up playing nursemaid most of Sunday. He's quite a good patient, luckily and wasn't cranky about not feeling well (like I can definitely get). He was feeling better near the end of the day- which is of the good. Though he spent last night in his chair as well. Thus terribly confusing the cats. Especially Sasha, she didn't know where to sleep!
Now the question is- do we go to see M and the new baby (presuming she decides to show up. ;) ) while the DH appears to be sick? The last thing we want to do is expose a newborn to a cold unnecessarily. Do I go by myself? Right now I'm thinking the best thing to do is wait and make sure we're both a closer approximation of healthy before we go to see them.
So, it was an almost non-weekend, I felt like I didn't get a whole lot of time to wind down. And I definitely didn't get enough stitching or writing done. And I'm now tired this morning. Bleah. Wanna go home and sleep some more.
