"Pets4Pets-NOLA has begun.
All the money will go to the Humane Society of Northwest Louisiana, not because they are more worthy than any other organization, but because upon review, I felt they were in the best position to use the funding for the disaster I wanted to target at this time.
The cash, by the way, all goes into a brand-new paypal account that is separate from my own bank account. It's handled through a SixApart service called "DropCash." It was quite easy to setup. There will be profile updating later- that wasn't the important part for now.
Go forth, spread the word, and if you are willing and able, please donate. Magellan and I thank you."
And so will Sasha, Leopolde and I.
From the Humane Society's website: "Our shelter for pets evacuated due to Hurricane Katrina is up and running at Louisiana State University in Shreveport. We are located in large tents in the grassy quadrangle adjacent to the Red Cross shelter. We are still accepting evacuated pets, and as always we need donations of money or supplies."
