So... the new job
Jul. 20th, 2005 11:02 pmI'm just in the second week, and so far so good. Though, I've never done so much invoicing in my life. It's kind of neat. Last week I prepared invoices for the 'desktop tech' hours, and today was given more to go. However, I completely forgot how I went about doing it last week... I think that's a bit telling as to how much I've attempted to pick up. There is also a lot of down time wher eI don't have much to do- part of that could be just not knowing what needs doing, part of it is just that I am over-qualified and apparently quicker than the last person. So I may be showing up in lj-land during the day, will feel out the waters regarding internet usage.
The database system, Tigerpaw (love the name!) at least makes a world more sense than the program the Lansing Housing Commission uses. The steps to get anything done follow a logical order. I like it.
The people are really nice too. The big boss is in and out, works odd hours, and is actually polite and nice. Which is such a switch from the Leprechaun. His wife is a VP and one of my main 'supervisors.' Very nice lady- she'll be fun to work with. Though, she is a neat freak, but I can work with that.
But, I've not been getting enough sleep lately, so I will have to cut this short and remedy that for the night.
Laters.
