Well Hello
Mar. 14th, 2005 03:27 pmAh, Monday... and my first day covering for the receptionist, no more am I 'Publications/Training Specialist.' Means longer hours and I can't just go to the bathroom I have to get 'permission' (in the form of someone covering the phones).
This is fun, I have no jobs lined up for after this one ends next Tuesday- but it would appear that the office manager is contemplating keeping me for odd jobs. This I am cool with. She said it wasn't anything definite, but they'd see. Apparently there are also talking about hiring another secretary as the one they have for one dept. is totally swamped. Well gee.. if I'm already here... *smiles brightly*
We'll see.
The weekend round-up. Stayed up too late on Friday night, only to have to be at a friend's house at 2 pm. Gathered with many people Saturday to play Talisman. I had never played before, as fun fun! Even if I died in the first 20 minutes (heh, I did it to myself- I was all alone in the Timescape and oops :) ). Eventually I was just running around the board trying to get cards merely so I could see what they said. When given the option to roll I always did because that was the fun. The other players found this amusing.
The down to the game is that it takes FOREVER! 10 hours later we were still playing, though the three girls had pretty much thrown in the towel (well, the other two did- I was still trying to get cards). The three boys were being obstinate. The beau eventually threw in the towel and he and the three girls went for coffee (the main reason he wanted to go was to get the change to drive female friend J's new Red Line Ion).
Sunday was a blissful day of doing pretty much nothing. Lounged around on the couch watching "The Prisoner" and "Buffy" with the beau. Even had a Danger Boy! settle long enough to come to mom looking for some cuddles and a place to nap. (this lasted about 15 minutes, then he was recharged and wanted dad to play with him.)
Tonight I get out of work at 5, have to drop by the post office, work out, and I think I'll watch 'White Oleander.'
So how are ya'll?
