Better and Better
Feb. 3rd, 2005 10:25 amSo, last night was 'clean the apartment' night. Since the Beau is working full time and taking 20 credit hours in classes, I have given him a full reprieve on housework. Seemed only fair. So last night when I got home from work I intended to vacuum.
Really, all I was going to do was vacuum the floor. Somehow this led to cleaning the litter boxes (well since I always vacuum the two areas when I'm done, I might as well clean them first, right?) Oh, and Leo... apparently has to make one last use of the litter box before you take all the stuff away. I take the top off, start to scoop and he appears. So I wait for his stinkiness to complete his mission. Then when I went to clean the other litter box I had to wait for her Sashaness to be done. Yeah, they made it REAL clear who serves whom.
So, litter boxes cleaned, vacuuming done. Well, how about those counters? Fantastiked all the counters (picking things up along the way and frequently removing a Danger Boy!), ran the dishwasher. Oh wait, the bathroom could use a thorough scrubbing, so yeah! Let's do that too! The apartment wasn't that messy really, just kept finding things to pick up and put where they belonged (along with several thousand cat toys- all of which were returned to being all over the apartment by the end of the evening- thanks to one Sir Leo).
Okay, apartment all clean, made me dinner, made food for lunches today for both the beau and I (since I started working I've been really good about bringing lunch with my everyday and not going out and buying it). Then cleaned me- and finally it was time to relax.
Watched "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" and I'm not quite sure about it. There were some parts that I really liked- other parts that I wasn't so thrilled with. Normally I'm NOT a Jim Carrey fan- but I rather liked him in this movie- he wasn't over acting like he does with every other role. The idea of being able to completely erase someone from one's mind is interesting, though I think it would be a bad idea and in the end rather unworkable. A point the movie shows rather well in two different relationships. One of my very favorite scenes was one of the very last. Usually when I'm finished watching a movie I know whether or not I liked it (and I'm really easy to please). This movie however is one of the few (Gangs of New York is as well- though there I swear there is a good movie somewhere- it just got lost) that at the end I'm sitting there "huh" and I'm not really sure if I've just enjoyed my time or not. This usually strikes me as weird.
Random thought- there's an episode in Season 3 of Buffy wherein she experiences telepathy. Now, all the viewers know that Oz is a taciturn fellow. The "huh" reminded me of him sitting there in the library thinking something along the lines of "We are our thoughts. If Buffy has our thoughts, she is all of us." and the only verbalization he makes is "huh."
Anywho, since last night was crazy cleaning lady night, tonight gets to be crazy cat woman night. Think I'll head over to CAHS and spend some quality time with the furbabies there.
