Apart from Friday night the weekend was pretty good. By the time I got to the apartment it was fairly late. Let Sasha out of her carrier and tried to pop her into the litter box (so she would know where it was). Oh no... we were having NONE of that. Apparently the litter boxes with the flap doors- that just doesn't work for her. Beau eventually took the flap off and Sasha decided that it was an acceptable box.

I think she's going to like the new apartment, plenty of room to wander around. By the time we were heading for bed she had found The Spot. She was lying with her front paws on the carpet of the hallway, and the rest of her in the bathroom, she has the perfect visual range. She can see into the main bedroom, into the den, down the hall, part of the living room, and the bathroom is behind her. And it was good.

Next morning we got up waaaay too early, in my opinion, and headed off for the 2004 Capital Area Humane Society 'Walk for the Animals' umm, walk. First we had to pick up the Bitty Boy, who was quite handsome in his new blue harness. Apparently he snapped a link on his choke collar. Still not quite sure how that happened. J's bro-in-law said he had fixed it, J just looked at him, he shrugged, claimed he was bored and had vice grips. I shudder to think what else he might have done had he not found the broken collar.

Anywho, we picked up the Bits and headed out to Fitzgerald Park in Grand Ledge. Bitty is a great car dog, he sniffed out the open window for a moment, and then lay down in the back seat and fell asleep. Though, like a little kid, as soon as we got off the highway he was sitting up and looking around. Then he lay right back down again, the Beau insists that he was conserving his energy.

We eventually found the park... see the beau and I neglected one little detail. He knew how to get to Grand Ledge, and I was under the impression he knew where the Park was. He didn't. But we did find it. This rather impressed me. When we got there I was holding Bits and the Beau was looking for something in the car, Bits apparently liked the Saturn next to us better, so he claimed it- or at least, marked the tire... tee hee.

While we were walking in I saw three women, each with an absolutely gorgeous Borzoi. These dogs are just so incredibly elegant. Beau asked if I wanted one, I said no. Their coat care would be the death of me. There were lots and lots of doggies! It was much fun.

We wandered around for a bit, walking right past the registration and then having to turn around to go back to it. Got our shirts and put Bits' bandana on him. He didn't like it hanging to the front so much... kept trying to back away from it which, while funny, wasn't really a good idea. So I switched it to be like a cape... yeah, that didn't work so well either. Eventually I just tied it through his harness. So he was sporting the Maise and Blue- like he should! ;)

Shortly before the offical walk 'start' we found Elder Brother M and His Wife B. Their dog Cody and Bits met and for a moment there seemed to not like each other. They did get over it though and walked next to each other just fine. Had fun on the walk talking with EB M and HW B. That and Cody and Bits are just really goofy mutts.

After the walk we all headed to Wendy's and were met there (after awhile) by HW B's mom, older sis, neice and nephew. Was entertaining. Then it was time to drive back home, dropping Bits off on the way. Given Sasha's stress level, I didn't want to try to introduce her to Bits (especially since we don't know if we're taking him or if J will be keeping him). I commented to the Beau that it felt like he was a divorced dad, I was the stepmom, and we had his kid for the day. He agreed, which led to another conversation on whether or not we will be keeping him. It's still undecided.

So we stop to talk to J for awhile, and then head over to see how her house is progressing. J's husband P is in Kansas City, she's staying with his Parents while their house is being finished. They had a manufactured home that got moved from a park to a lot right next door to P's parents. Yanno, I really love my folks and all, and I think they're wonderful people, but I don't think that I would want to live right next door. Maybe it's just me.

Anywho, J showed us around the 'house-in-progress' and it's looking good. With the addition of a basement they're essentially doubling their floor space- and the changes for most of the house are really positive. The problem comes in with the lack of living room, right now. The area where the living room was is now mostly being taken up by stairs to the basement.

We talked for awhile and then it was back to the apt. for a nap. I was tired! We were supposed to go to see Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow that night, but I just really didn't want to go out. So instead Beau and I played The Game!! and just kinda vegged. Even ordered pizza for dinner.

The next day we were supposed to go to Zimmer, and tried to even. Got a late start, which meant we would be about 1/2 late for a 2 hour shift, and then ended up getting pulled over. Yeah, Beau and I were talking politics and sexuality ideas and he wasn't paying attention to how fast he was going. The cop was nice though and only wrote him up for 5 over. (Stupid 55 mph zones). We passed the spot where the Doe committed suicide with my car, and then got to talking about the time. But the time we got to Zimmer we would have spent over an hour on the road and would have arrived over an hour late, only to spend another hour plus on the road to get back. So we turned around and went back home. (which makes more sense when you add in the fact that I had a terrible headache.)

I took a nap, hoping this would ease the pain. Oh, and took sudafed- glorious stuff that. We played more of The Game, and then it was off to see Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow! Okay, it was a bit cheesy and there were huge plot issues that I'm absolutely refusing to look into.

As a movie, it was a lot of fun. Jude Law and Angelina Jolie were fun to watch, Gwyneth Paltrow I had some issues with. She had the absolute right look, but something was slightly off with her performance. Or maybe it was a character thing. There were several times when I wanted to smack Polly, but I really liked Frankie. I would see it again, actaully. I loved the dialogue.

After the movie it was dinner time, another couple rounds of The Game, some paper reading, and then time to pack up and head back to Ypsi.
