Feb. 23rd, 2004 12:38 pmI keep meaning to post something in here, usually the plan is to do so on my lunch hour (like now), but I tend to get distracted and do something else.
Anyhow, had an entertaining weekend. The Chicago Caper was a blast, though the accents used were a bit suspect... Anywho, had fun with that- and got to make some new cat friends. See, the people I already knew, but I got to meet another Sasha-cat and a Mr. Nuggles (I think, it may have been Mr. Snuggles). Sasha was a very dignified mostly Persian princess- we got along well, Mr. Nuggles was just a love once you were able to pet him. Hey, I paid attention to the game! Not my fault cats distract me...
Sunday I went up to see the Parental Units, this is always entertaining on one level or another. I got the measurements of the Nordictrack Elipse exercise machine my mom is giving me. Course if I have it at the house I remove all my good excuses for not exercising. Spoke to Elder Brother J, and discovered that he's apparently dating. This is good, I'm most happy for him. The lady in question sounds nice, smart, and apparently has a beagle (okay, Elder Brother J see dogs the same way I view cats) that likes the EB J well enough when he takes her outside- but if he and his lady are on the couch the beagle gets all jealous.
Got my taxes done, Unkin Sam will be giving me a nice refund. Apparently it's a good thing to have taxes taken out of unemployment funds. As co-worker TM called refunds- Poor Man's Loan. Well, I's a po' wooman and I need the money, this'll help me pay off some debts AND save a little.
After the taxes were all submitted and stuff Elder Brother M and his wife B came over for dinner. EB M wasn't in a great mood, he fell Thursday night when he was trying to take one of their pooches out for a walk. According to him he tried to see if his back would break concrete, and not surprisingly, it won't. S-i-L B was awfully quiet last night. Strangely, I can't tell if she's just like that, or if she was just having a bad day- or if she just really doesn't like me all that much. Will have to pay closer attention in the future.
Got home last night, attempted to organize my room a little bit. Gave up after completely re-sorting my lingerie drawer and the sock drawer (for a minute there I had both drawers on my bed and a Sasha in one and a Magnus in the other. They didn't appreciate getting shooed out. Then it was time for a load of laundry and a load of Dryel. Had to convince Sasha that climbing into the dryer was not the best of plans. That took some convincing.
Got a chance to play some CivII while clothes were drying. It's a fun fun game, but long, in my opinion. Of course, I'm really not so good at strategy games like that, so I always toggle the cheat mode. I always lose otherwise, I'm just not talented in that direction. I'm okay with that.
Roomie and DK got home last night as I was exiting the shower. So I talked with them a bit and hit the hay. Sleeping is good. I would like to do more of it... Right now seems to be a good time.....
