All's well... I think
Jan. 2nd, 2003 03:13 pmSo... the last few days have been rather all over the place emotionally, but the end result has been very positive for the Cat and the people in her life.
Last entry I went on at length about the problems in relationships with my roomie and myself. She actually read that last entry, and was quite upset about it all. We spent awhile on the phone several times that day, as I was at my man’s home, when I got back the next day we didn’t have a whole lot of time- because we were expected elsewhere.
Overall though, we had several conversations, figured out that some of the issues we thought were central to the problems we had been having over the past few months were more surface issues, and were able to get down more to the nitty gritty aspects. This conversation touched on both our lives and both our issues. This was something we needed to talk about, needed to see the other person’s point of view on.
Then came New Year’s Eve, the first part of the day was a little rocky, roomie went to an appointment and the man showed up. Cuddling followed, this is always a good thing, the Cat likes cuddles, and since roomie was away at the time cuddles could be had without her feeling uncomfortable.
Later, roomie returned, light conversation was had, and then roomie cut to the chase and had a conversation with the man that was probably very necessary, in the long run. Gave both of them a chance to air some things out and clear up a few areas of confusion or misunderstanding. Seems like both feel better about the situation as a result, and in turn I feel better as well.
The rest of the evening was spent at a mutual friend’s place. Was fairly quiet, but I think that’s mostly what we all needed. Toasted the New Year, and while there were some good aspects of 2002 (like meeting my man) I’m hoping that for myself, and for my friends, that 2003 is much better. So far, so good. The two most important people in my life are doing well, and the individual relationships I have with them are improving, nothing to complain about there.
Now… all I need is a job.
