So very glad it's Friday!! And that I'm working on a brand new computer at work! See, we lease from HP and the leases were up on the old ones. Here I am on a new, speedy machine. This of course means that I've had to spend quite awhile configuring it to my liking. And I'm not sure I'm done yet...

That's about all for right now. Very much looking forward to this weekend!

Oh, and I finally gave in- in the process of searching for a former roommate, I joined Facebook. If you know my name- feel free to add. If you don't, and would like to add me, email me at gmail- thejadecat.

Anyone know if they're going to be releasing Chrome for the Mac? (I've just downloaded it for this new computer and so far like it.) Especially since the guy here at work gave me the most recent version of Firefox, so SnapLinks doesn't work! *pout*

Speaking of SnapLinks, have some dragons.

The article I read said they're working on versions for Mac and Linux. Hopefully they'll be out soon.

Out of curiousity, had any luck finding said former roommate?

Me, not so much still. I may give up and see if I can reach her mother at the work number and go from there. Just trying to get up the guts to do it :D

Nope, no luck at all. There are some people with her name, but they don't seem to actually be her. :(

I'd stay away from Chrome for the moment. There's a lot questions about just how much of your web surfing gets recorded in Google's data farm. Some weeks with packet monitors need to check this out. Under the best of circumstances, Google does record your searches. In fact, I published a linguistic corpus made from the archived searches the year before last. Chrome may record everything and send it back to Google. What they'll do with that, I don't know, but the fact they collect all that is worrying.

I would second this, because there was also a Denial of Service vulnerability that was detected in Chrome and makes it so the tabs don't work...
